@CFBReport If not for the crap that is the “modern” college football (Open transfer portal + NIL), UNT would have been set up to be a G6 powerhouse for the next two years. Thanks to the P4 and their bought off NCAA, that will never happen. For any G6. Ever again.

Interesting take from North Carolina AD Bubba Cunningham on the future of college athletics. He believes schools will eventually require some of their athletes to pay to play while continuing to pay others. The cost of non-revenue sports and the minimum of 16 teams, including 8 for women for FBS programs, has also been a source of debate.
D1.ticker@D1ticker

New standard on the horizon? 🐏 @GoHeels AD @BubbaUNC believes there will be a shift in non-revenue athletics: "I do think we'll get to a bifurcated system … that will have two pay-per-play models. One is you will be paid to play your game and others you'll have to pay if you're going to play your game. And so that's where we're going to end up, I think, at some point." Cunningham also offered a look into the transfer portal: "This past year, almost 50% of the Division I basketball players entered the portal. That just doesn't seem to be something that is good for the academy." 📰: drvco.omeclk.com/portal/public/…

@khame9eon @ShaneTuttleNCAA @grok The fact that you have to ask should tell you how insanely stupid the courts and the people who control the NCAA (the power conferences) are and how badly they’ve hurt college sports.

NEWS: No. 1 player in the 2028 class, AJ Williams, has agreed to a two-year, $4.8M NIL deal with Duke, sources tell me. The deal will compensate the 16-year-old during his junior and senior years of high school before enrolling in college.

@broadhurstbobb When will people realize generally they are all this way, both parties (yes, there are exceptions but when you don’t police your own…). You are just a political cheerleader if you think your side isn’t just as guilty, whatever side that may be.

Congressman Jamie Raskin has been ordered to repay the federal government $304,000 he took from the illegal student loan debt relief program for his daughter's tuition to Stanford. "Mr. Raskin knew the program would be shot down," wrote 14th District Judge Joseph A Barron, "so he pushed his application through using his position." Raskin's defense was that the program was perfectly legal when he took the money. "That defense is summarily rejected." The judge also noted that the Raskins are worth more than $14 million and shouldn't have qualified in the first place. "There's grounds for a criminal case here if ever this court saw one."

@CuriousMrFox101 @nicksortor Except that’s not what the FBI said. At all. That certainly is the democrat talking point, for sure. Nothing will come of this as people that high a level in society rarely suffer consequences for financial crimes. And people like you believe what you want > any evidence.

🚨 HOLY CRAP! FBI Director Patel says leftist NGO Southern Poverty Law Center, which has now been indicted, was using donor to pay leaders of the KU KLUX KLAN to stage "HATE CRIMES" "They used the FRAUDULENTLY raised money by lying to their donor network—THOUSANDS of Americans—to go ahead and actually PAY the leadership of these supposed violent extremist groups. "Furthermore, our investigation revealed that the Southern Poverty Law Center—on TOP of perpetuating this widespread decade-long multimillion dollar fraud—conducted more criminal activity. They attempted to HIDE their criminal activity from our financial banking network. They set up shell companies and entities around America so that the financial institutions that we rely on as everyday Americans were DECEIVED in believing that money was NOT coming from the Southern Poverty Law Center in the perpetration of this scheme and fraud, but rather fictitious entities they stood up to perpetuate this ongoing fraud." @FBIDirectorKash

@Andy_Bloch @FBIDirectorKash @DAGToddBlanche If what the FBI alleges is true, they weren’t “doing the job the FBI and state police should have been doing” at all. They were stoking hate in order to fundraiser off that hate. Because if that hate disappears, so does their $700 million war chest. It’s a disgusting grift

This evening: @DAGToddBlanche and I are announcing an 11 count indictment against the Southen Poverty Law Center. Charges include wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering. The SPLC allegedly engaged in a massive fraud operation to deceive their donors, enrich themselves, and hide their deceptive operations from the public. They lied to their donors, vowing to dismantle violent extremist groups, and actually turned around and paid the leaders of these very extremist groups - even utilizing the funds to have these groups facilitate the commission of state and federal crimes. That is illegal – and this is an ongoing investigation against all individuals involved.

FBI Director Kash Patel just confirmed that they are folding the stolen election into the entire Grand Conspiracy case and promises that arrests are coming very soon💥 “We’ve got all the evidence. I can announce on your show that we’ve got all the information we need. We’re working with our prosecutors at the DOJ under AG Todd Blanche, and we are going to be making arrests - and it’s coming and I promise, it’s coming soon.” Maria Bartiromo then followed up and asked if the FBI has evidence of the rigged & stolen election, to which Kash responded: “Yes. So what we are doing is folding that into our entire conspiracy case… but we have the information that backs President Trump’s claim (of the stolen election)… but I would say stay tuned this week. You might see a thing or two.” Notice he specifically said “our entire conspiracy case.” It seems like we are definitely getting close….

@ronaldusseryjr @PeteThamel They simply refused to hear the case. Technically that’s not siding against the NCAA, but I get your point. Politicians’ #1 priority is self-protection of their re-election. The MS Supreme Court are elected politicians. 7 of the 9 justices are also Ole Miss grads.

@PeteThamel Mississippi Supreme Court siding against the NCAA here is significant. When courts start pushing back on eligibility rulings, it signals the NCAA's enforcement framework may not hold up to judicial scrutiny. Big precedent.

The American Conference might be the best talent incubator in college athletics. Develop a coach? Gone. Develop a top player? Gone. It’s the most efficient springboard to the P4. If everything changes year to year… what do fans tie their loyalty to?
