@sitereactor Ok really old photo, but knew I remembered seeing you reading this book - was it worth it? After reading the original book of course?

Got some light reading for next week's vacation. Looking forward to reading it - and almost ironically, when I added a "Not available" vacation block to my calendar for the next two weeks Google asked if I wanted to turn it into a zoom meeting 🤣

@paulsterling Yes a local user is needed, to get through the authorize upgrade screen. I think it can also be done by enabling unattended upgrades, which is what happens when we reach the cloud environments

Anyone successfully upgraded an #Umbraco Cloud site to v12? Stuck because we are using only UmbracoId but the login redirects to localhost, so no way to login. Maybe need to create a local backoffice user first?

@mjovanovictech I love Rebus and the implementation of the Saga pattern. I work with it every day, and it absolut solves (most) of the issues with distributed transactions

Distributed transactions can be a real headache. And a well-known pattern for solving this problem is the Saga pattern. A Saga is a sequence of local transactions, where each local transaction updates the Saga state and publishes a message triggering the next step in the Saga. Yesterday, 13.185 engineers learned how to implement the Saga pattern with Rebus and RabbitMQ. I talked about the following: • Saga Orchestration vs. Choreography • How to work with Rebus • How to create a Saga with multiple steps • Difference between Commands and Events I also included the complete source code so you can try it yourself. Miss the issue? You can read it here 👇 milanjovanovic.tech/blog/implement… P.S. What's your experience with the Saga pattern? Do you like using it?

It was just announced internally so I thought I would share it here as well. April 28th will be my final day at Microsoft. My goal two years ago was to retire in five years. I am just a bit ahead of schedule. Time to hang up the #Blackshirt for good. #RubDevOpsOnIt #LoECDA

hi @VisualStudio, I have updated to 17.4.0. Unfortunately, it uninstall the existing .NET 6.0 SDK. Where to report this? Is the developercommunity is the right place?

@TiffanyMProsser Love it! It's all the characters that are on the children shows during the day. Then at 20:00(i think it's then) they go to sleep. That way of you have an easy way out to tell your kids that they should also go to sleep, as all their favorite characters 😴

Sat in my hotel room in Denmark watching a show that runs overnight called #Ramasjang, presumably a sesame street type show. The characters, about 10-15 in total, are filmed sleeping on a continuous loop all through the night. It's trippy as hell. I love it!!! #wtf #umbraco
