@johnrobb You get the order wrong; globally mobile people move to places like Dubau because this is where the opportunities are. When this ends, the oppprtunities don’t go away. These professionals don’t make Dubai, dubai makes them .

Both Israel and Gulf states rely upon globalist professionals who can depart the country the moment the situation gets risky. Has anyone analyzed the impact of Iran's bombing on this population?
Patricia Marins@pati_marins64

This has been happening multiple times a day for 13 days. While the destruction in Iran has been more widely covered, Israel is also under heavy bombardment, with over 2,500 people hospitalized and many dead. It’s a brutal war with no clear objective and aiming civiles from both sides.

@rabois @minhphan2301 As orgs scale, processes facilitate decision making, but in games of limited shots alpha always matters, Also AI reduces number of decision nodes and reduces need for processes. Or to paraphrase Keith, barrels need less processes to aim and shoot

So good by @GavinSBaker In Michael Jordan’s second to last year with the Chicago Bulls, Jerry Krause, GM of the Bulls said, “Listen players don’t win championships, organizations do. It isn’t just Jordan or Pippen. It’s how we scout, draft, train, it’s our system." Well… after Michael Jordan left they never won another championship. The thing allocators struggle with is it feels safe and good to say there is a process and its repeatable. Yes, it is important to have a process that is repeatable that works for you, but any process that is repeatable that generates significant alpha will be quickly arbed away in a competitive world. So where does repeatable outperformance come from? I would submit that any investment organization no matter how big, there are somewhere between 2-10 people where if you took those people out, and that organization would have the exact same process, the results would be dramatically different. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/cap…

Too many negative vibes around India on this platform and too many questions around tourism and India . It’s time to change the narrative , it’s time to show how incredible India truly is . #MeraWalaIndia
Mony@getmony_app

Mony is developing some of the best content out there on how to truly go local & beyond the tourist traps. India is culturally incredibly rich & diverse, but poorly documented. The work that the team is doing is making more of it visible to more people. #GoLocal #Mony

India has no shortage of great places. What it does have is a discoverability problem. Some of the best cafés, shops, homestays, guides, and family-run businesses are loved by locals, but they’re often hard for visitors to find and even harder to pay at. That’s why we’re launching Mony Select. Mony Select recognizes outstanding local merchants and experiences across India based on real traveller usage and trust, not ads or listings. For travellers : Go local with confidence. Walk in, scan, pay. For merchants : Visibility without compromise. No expensive hardware, no operational change. Travellers should go where their heart takes them, not where their card limits them. Local. Trusted. Discovered. Today, we’re launching with hundreds of merchants across multiple Indian cities. 👇Help us expand the list: Comment your city + one place (café/shop/homestay/guide) that deserves Mony Select.

A key point here is how Dubai is enabling indian brands to expand outside. Dubai is India's largest middle class market, when you combine both indians living in Dubai and Indian tourists spending in Dubai. Indians are the largest community in India and largest % of tourists, putting total indian middle class spend in Dubai at around $50 bn., while a mumbai / delhi will clock around $15 –$25 bn in middle class spend.

People said Indians can’t build premium brands that work abroad, well here’s Rahul at Subkos flagship store at Dubai Alserkal, Superyou now sells in Dubai, 11.11 sells in New York and Brad Pitt wears it in a movie (unpaid), Nappa Dori is on the parallel street to Subko in Alserkal (ps I have nothing to do with Nappadori, just proud) @jointhefoundery will hopefully create a few brands like this too... Premium, artisan, COOL, Indian brands to the world ❤️ 🇮🇳

What each cohort makes is directly a function of supply in the space, AI has just made supply for some jobs infinite . When these degree holders all switch to plumbing and make that supply 10x , salaries will drop 5-6x also. Mass unemployment is around the corner and with it rise of socialism.

This slide just looks like what I presented at CFA society .. I was not so direct otherwise all degree holders will vent their anger at me. If you think western world is different then I must tell you that an uber driver makes more than a bank teller ( who also has to dress like a celebratory) .. it is common to see 2/3 degree holders driving uber or doing DoorDash in SUV where the monthly loan payment is USD 1000 on 7-10 year terms. 80% of all AI startups in the world are trying to disrupt white collar worker and improve productivity Old world 8 human beings + 2 machines Brave new world 2 Human beings ( critical thinkers) + 8 machines. Within 5 years UBI will become a buzz word. ( snippet WhatsApp forward)

I was invited by CFA Society India to present my Global Macro Outlook 2026, where I discussed how markets are entering a Brave New World shaped by rising sovereign debt, monetary realignment, shifting geopolitics, and capital rotation. The session examines the transition away from a US centric hegemonic system toward a multipolar global order, the implications for currencies and reserve assets, the growing role of gold, electrification and commodities, and why real assets are increasingly preferred over financial assets in this cycle. Norms are written by those who can enforce them
InfantryDort@infantrydort

The Invoice of Power For all the crying haters of U.S. power projection. You mistake American peace for a donation. Peace is not mailed out like aid packages. It’s underwritten. By carriers you don’t build, by logistics you don’t maintain, by men and women you didn’t raise, and by a debt of blood you never agreed to pay. You mortgaged your future and outsourced your security. Now you project morality instead of power and call it “sovereignty.” You cry foul when America decides the bill is due. When we choose to remove a parasite like Nicolás Maduro from the bloodstream of a hemisphere we’ve kept stable for generations. You say it’s illegitimate, unfair, and that it violates norms. Norms are written by those who can enforce them. You ask if we think peace is benevolent. No. Peace is transactional. The price is alignment, stability, and order. If you don’t pay it, someone else will, eventually with interest. This is the sickness of the postwar world: a civilization feminized by safety it did not earn, mistaking feelings for force and outrage for deterrence. You boo and hiss about sovereignty while cheering mass migration, institutional decay, and the slow motion rape of the West. Your moral vocabulary is loud; your martial vocabulary is empty. So understand this clearly: If you disagree, do something about it. Because your boos mean nothing to a nation that has seen what you applaud. This is a mask off moment. You don’t have to respect America. Fear will suffice. We are not cruel, merely structural. Gravity does not apologize to the weak for pulling them down. Fire does not explain itself to straw. America is strong. You are not. That’s not personal. That is simply the way of things. Power is the rent you pay to exist unmolested in a violent world. If you refuse to pay it, don’t be shocked when the landlord shows up. I sometimes blackpill too hard. But lately, I’m starting to see America might not be in total decline, just hitting puberty. So yea, it’s about to get weird. But we aren’t going anywhere. For the soft among you out there, I guess you’re just gonna have to deal.

Thank you @outofofficedaku for talking about us . This 👆 is why we built Mony. India shouldn’t be experienced through “card-only” bubbles. We lets tourists go local — safely, transparently, and confidently. No cash stress. No awkward POS hunts. Fewer scams. More chai, markets, temples & hidden gems ❤️🇮🇳 At Mony, our mission is to help more tourists go local and go where your heart takes you — not your card.

There will be another round of exchange companies pushing Indians to send more money back home given recent decline against the dollar, after all India is the largest receiver of remittances globally, but the smartest strategy for NRIs is to actually not send any money back home at all . The bigger cross border opportunity is to help Indians gain exposure to dollar assets

@awxjack Maybe the right question to ask is the inverse, can any company sitting outside the US trust US based companies to not share their data with US regulators? US is the largest market in the world , it’s not the only market

It’s disappointing to see an investor circulating inaccurate claims to give a portfolio company an edge in competing. Airwallex operates under strict global data-residency and security frameworks. No U.S. customer data is sent to China. Full stop. Just like Apple, Tesla, and Microsoft. We hire the best talent globally. But where our engineers sit is different from where your data sits and who has access to that data. US customer data is stored in US, Netherland and Singapore data centers and subject to strict security and access controls. No members of Airwallex China or Hong Kong entities have access to US customer PII. We hold 70+ licenses globally and regulated in over 48 states in the United States. We do not answer to foreign intelligence demands for non-local sensitive data, our technical and legal structures prevent that cross-border reach. We comply with US federal requirements with respect to China and Hong Kong access to US sensitive personal information. Our leadership team operates across the U.S., Europe, Singapore, and Australia. And for what it’s worth, the entire London tech ecosystem knows I live in Holland Park. Hard to believe this is even a talking point.
