Mandelson isn’t an aberration. He is the system. And Starmer just proved it. December 2024. Cabinet Office flags Mandelson’s Epstein ties, Russia links, and his past resignations. Starmer still appoints him. Late January 2025. Security services run full check and say no. Starmer’s already made the announcement, so Foreign Office does something it almost never does - it overrides the security services. Mandelson goes to Washington and Parliament is told due process was followed. Starmer said it himself. The security vetting “gave him clearance for the role.” That was a lie. Now Starmer says he didn’t know the vetting had been overridden. A civil servant has been thrown under the bus, and the PM is washing his hands. Maybe he really didn’t know. But here’s the thing. That’s exactly how it’s supposed to work. You don’t tell the managed politician everything. You just arrange things. They don’t ask awkward questions. Nobody gets their hands dirty. The system protects itself and everyone stays comfortable. Corbyn couldn’t be managed like that. No leverage. No directorships waiting. No peerages as reward. He’s funded by ordinary people. He didn’t owe the system a thing. Which is why they tried so hard to destroy him. Peter Mandelson failed security vetting and got the Washington embassy. Jeremy Corbyn won two leadership elections and got destroyed by the same machine. The difference isn’t conduct. It’s control. And this photo of Mandelson laughing with Farage? That’s not hypocrisy, it’s the system recognising itself. I said it in February, and I’ll say it again. Corbyn still terrifies them because he can’t be bought. He can’t be managed. He can’t be given a Washington embassy and pointed in the right direction. That’s the story and everything else is just distraction.

Sorry Milton, that’s a club saying of ours, didn’t intend it to be edgy. The original post relates to the Derby game on Sunday. Everton have built a new stadium but before construction began a Liverpool fan made a skit video at the site - he focussed on a road cone as the only progress made in a few years. Turns out that the road cone is now one of the best football stadia in the world 👍💙

On Sunday, if @Everton fail to mount the ball on a road cone for the ref to pick up as the teams enter the stadium, we’ve missed a trick 🙂💙⚽️

NHS workers are being stripped of their pensions and removed from NHS employment by a trust that covers Bath, Swindon and Salisbury hospitals. Staff are being told they will have to re-register with a private equity company if they want to keep working. I used to be a governor at one of the hospitals involved, and I’ve have seen the internal documents. This is straight out of the PFI playbook - and it’s happening right now. @NicolaCJeffery @troovus @skipman Nobody in this thread has attacked anyone personally. Questions about who owns The Canary and what readers were told are public interest questions. Describing them as harassment rather than answering them is itself a response worth paying attention to imo.

For those who need reminding what the vote around Dual Membership at our founding conference actually stated: 'Option A — Dual Membership with aligned allied parties Members shall be permitted to hold membership in other national political parties where they have been approved by the CEC as aligning with the Party’s values, to include those with whom the Party cooperates electorally. The approved list shall be subject to ongoing CEC review and annual ratification by National Conference.' This is not about individuals feelings or what certain people want others to believe. This is about what the actual wording says. This is about democracy not distortion. Some individuals, whether through malicious intent or sheer ignorance, need to recognise the damage they are doing by spreading a false narrative around the vote. Dual membership was voted on but it clearly stipulates that the CEC must approve and ratify organisations. The CEC did exactly that yesterday, agreeing by majority, including my submitted amendment to allow for TUSC to be an approved organisation. Please don’t allow those who are not fully committed to our Party to cause further unnecessary damage and division. I remain optimistic. This was a crucial step to allow branches to form without further delay or the likelihood of infiltration.
