One of my favorite aspects of my journey over the last few years has been the regular opportunities to channel the energy around Chromie Squiggle into charitable and community initiatives. From Squiggles donated to various charity auctions to the original Squiggle remix contest I hosted back in 2020 👀, I have and will continue to jump at any opportunity to deploy the incredible energy and goodwill within this ecosystem to fun and charitable causes. And I'm super excited about this one! It would be a great honor to invite digital artists to reinterpret the Chromie Squiggle in a way that reflects the themes of Bridging Worlds and Foreigners Everywhere —exploring the intersections of culture, identity, and belonging, while representing the transformative power of digital art in creating new connections across borders. The winning piece will be part of the upcoming Christie’s (@ChristiesDigArt) x UNHCR Charity Auction: "Bridging Worlds: Digital Art Beyond Borders" taking place from October 23 to 30, 2024. This auction includes work from some of my favorite creators and will raise funds to support the work of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency @UNHCR_CH_Innov. 📅 Open Call Dates: Start Date: September 20, 2024 End Date: October 4, 2024 Theme: Bridging Worlds: Digital Art Beyond Borders ✍️Guidelines: 1 entry per artist (link in the Christie's tweet below). Your submission must be an original artwork inspired by the Chromie Squiggle and themes of Bridging Worlds and Foreigners Everywhere. The winning piece will be auctioned alongside other renowned digital works, with proceeds benefiting UNHCR! 👩‍⚖️ Judges: Your submission will be reviewed by me along with Micol Ap (Curator), Sebastian Sanchez (Digital Art Specialist, @ChristiesInc), and Leila Khazaneh (Collector), all of whom I'm excited to support in this initiative. 🏆 Winner: The winning artwork will be announced on October 14, 2024 and will be part of the Christie’s x UNHCR Charity Auction, from October 23 to 30, 2024.
