Trans people exist and they are trans. They deserve to be treated fairly by society and competently by physicians. However, males cannot become females or vice versa. If trans could accept being trans rather than insist on biological impossibilities we’d all have better lives.

Referring to toilets, changing rooms, etc as "men's" and "women's" is an example of systemic transphobia bcos it assumes that everyone who uses the *male* toilets is a man. It doesn't even make sense under cis normativity, bcos boys also use male toilets as do trans girls & wmn

Oh Mark… yeah they were babes, I was there from the early 80s and I’ve done a few moments of actual research into the 60s/70s. Trans folk have always been part of the community, even if we didn’t use that phrase.

Donald Trump is so thick I can't even begin to explain it. Him and his mate Benny caused the Strait of Hormuz to be closed. He can't get it open again so he wants to be compensated to protect ships going where all could pass freely until the two morons got trigger happy. FFS!

Not much to add to the commentary on that Amnesty report, but to highlight something yet again: the abysmal lack of ordinary intellectual standards on one side of this argument, the absence of quality control, and the willingness of once reputable organisations to publish tosh.

@jk_rowling @HJoyceGender 1) This is exactly the way slut-shaming works; you take the way someone dresses to look good for themselves or to feel good about themselves, and you ascribe it sexual intent. 2) it's tricky for trans people - if they dress conservatively, they risk being mis-gendered (cont).

Very telling that a report on the UK anti-gender movement is met with accusations of "misusing their formidable funding", while said report mentions how extensively funded many of the listed orgs are. One of the core funders is Rowling who is now busy attacking the report.
