Exactly. That's why the matchup is so compelling. One sees the other as their ultimate rival, while the other barely considers them worthy of serious effort—just another berserker charging headfirst into a blade. That contrast makes the dynamic far more interesting than a simple rivalry.

@miniature832 It just feels very much like the while one sees the other as a arch enemy the other sees a petulant child flailing its chainaxes about only to be cleaved in half by expert swordsmanship, ya know?

@CTPhipps1980 I actually agree with that. The Emperor hesitated because Horus wasn't just another traitor—he was his favored son. By the time he finally accepted Horus was beyond saving, Sanguinius was dead and there was nothing left to hold back.

@miniature832 I argue the Emperor actually had the opposite problem. He started to love Horus at some point and if he'd been less attached, he could have wiped him out well before Terra. He only took the gloves off when he killed his other favorite.

@40ktrasfondo I agree. Even Horus admitted Sanguinius was the greatest of the Primarchs. Coming from Horus himself, that's about as strong an endorsement as you can get.

@Yarlfrostfist That's fair. Primarchs consistently display feats that go beyond anything we see from Hercules in the myths—Lorgar stopping a Warhound Titan, their incredible healing, and their superhuman speed are all on another level. I'd still give the physical edge to the Primarchs.

@miniature832 Disagree we never see Hercules lift anything as heavy as a war hound titan yet logar one of the weakest primarchs stops angron being crushed by one. We never see him heal like primarchs can. And he's never mentioned to have their speed.

@Fullmetal150 @Yarlfrostfist To be fair, Hercules also had the gods directly backing him. In Warhammer, lifting a Titan isn't really comparable to fighting or destroying one.

@VonYansenn True, but the Ultramarines were busy holding the Imperium together elsewhere. If they hadn't shattered the Shadow Crusade and rebuilt the Imperium afterward, there might not have been anything left to defend.

@bvdemier To be fair, the White Scars had one advantage—they still had their Primarch. Most of the loyalist Legions lost theirs, so coping was a lot harder. 😅

@miniature832 Sanguinius. His legion was the one that actually got over his death the best. The DA became almost schizo in hunting the Fallen, the Ultras started revering a book, and the Wolves started moping in Fenris. But the ones who got best over it? HAI CHOGORIS

@The_Gundam_Guy I'd say the World Eaters. The Blood Angels and World Eaters mirror each other far more closely—both are melee-focused Legions cursed by uncontrollable rage, with the iconic Sanguinius vs. Angron rivalry making them the perfect foil.

@LucienMalumYT That's a fair take. I'd still lean toward the World Eaters as the Blood Angels' best foil—the melee focus, Angron vs. Sanguinius, and the "Red Angel" parallel make the contrast feel the most personal.

@miniature832 I would argue the world eaters or sons of Horus/black legion But world eaters because melee vs melee, red angel vs red angel, the parallels Sons of Horus/ black legion because the battle on the vengeful m spirit. Nightlords are more a dark angels foil, like word bearers & ravens
