@atollvik @mistapussy seals also need to be fed a LOT and their mothers milk has a high fat diet, so until they grow to a certain point, it's dangerous to release them. now, it is the circle of life for some seals to not make it to adulthood due to predators, but i don't think it's bad to rehab if pos

@atollvik @mistapussy usually they keep them until they molt and become mature, then will release them. not sure about this specific type of seal but we get lots of abandoned harbour seals in New england, and Mystic Aquarium will take care of them until they're mature, then release them.
