@MartinCothran When U R the only teacher at ur school that teaches her subj following a certain philosophy, & while u use most plans, but u see ur sts need or want to learn something else…and there are no other plans to follow… just saying

I can't count the times I have heard some teacher friend say, "Well, I have to do lesson planning now." Lesson planning? Do you mean they don't give you a lesson plan at your school? Don't they have a curriculum department? What do they do there? You realize we have been teaching this subject for hundreds of years? Why do you have to write a new lesson plan? Isn't there a lesson plan from the previous teachers who have taught this subject at your school that you could imitate? Why are you re-inventing the educational wheel every day, or week, or term?

Controversial post: Effective teachers can do it without technology. We’ve let technology take the place of effective teaching. Teachers relying on tech fail to develop many strategies those with no tech available develop. (Obvious exception are contents that are tech based: computer science, broadcast, engineering, etc).

@tanyaelisabeth Yes, pregnant women squat while in labor. Some even deliver their children that way. If only there were a worldwide searchable database to look things like this up. Also, why are people so bent out of shape over this?

@heymrsbond I don’t think that many Ts today choose to go to relevant PD to help them be better Ts. They blame it on the kids instead. They don’t self reflect on their practice to find deficits & try to improve.

@heymrsbond I think that some Ts don’t know how to teach & they aren’t getting the training to do so. PD isn’t helpful to them. It’s never been relevant to me, (Art T), so I searched out my own. I found experts to help me. I learned my content &am still learning.

@DanPatrick Students already had the right to pray at school. This bill was a waste of time and money.

@johnegibson @TexasHDC They said it is a win for teachers, which it is because we will get much needed pay raises. The biggest loss tho is the sts who are getting jack bc their allotment increase is minuscule. 😞

What would change about your approach to work as a teacher if you went into the school year with the mindset that it was going to be your last year at your current school building?

@heymrsbond I think many teachers don’t do it for a myriad of reasons-thinking they have nothing to say, imposter syndrome, no compensation, overworked in regular teaching stuff, etc. I try to present every time I can.

Teachers need ways to advance without leaving the classroom. Our best teachers should not all become administrators and instructional coaches. Too often, people rise to their level of incompetence. #education #teachersoftiktok #principalsoftiktok #edleadership #management
