I'm disappointed by the Region's vote to leave Lancaster/Highway 85 interchanges open. I'm a cyclist and its one of my most unsafe locations. Given the ramps will remain operational what's the best (and safest) redesign? Maybe we can community design this thing. I'll start.

Follow ROW cross section with separated and raised bike lanes, sidewalk, and landscaping. Reduce to 2 lanes. SB: stop sign, right turn only towards Union St, raised pedestrian/cycling crossing. NB: 90 degree right turn entrance onto the ramp over raised ped/cycling crossing.

@CraigSloss @shitspatrick Would love to see this for Kitchener and Region clearing too. Always see them driving past uncleared sidewalks just to clear a small patch in front of a park and then right back on the road again to the next spot. No network. Imagine if they plowed en route too…

@ignorantsapient @citywaterloo Which sidewalk do you think is cleared by the City of Kitchener vs. Private homeowners? Every sidewalk adjacent to a City/Regional property was clear to the pavement before 8am today. Can’t say the same for any private property I traversed.
