@JohnElsey11 @taperclinic Way too many can't get off these meds. Long term safety is not tested

I think sometimes your posts do feel like anti medication and possibly because of the language used and lack of balance with all or nothing statements.
Is this account really typical ? Or just typical of the story's you hear due to your position and followers ?
May I ask , based on your understanding , what % of patients take 20 years to come off an anti depressant ?;

TLDR. American dietary guidelines are rubbish. But we knew that. The researchers are more cautious. Conclusion = we think they are rubbish but we need to do more work to prove it. Let's not wait. Just Eat Real Food. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

#nonukes Peter Dutton hasn't accounted for this, because of the health hazards and prohibitive costs of "safe" storage (read permanent guards, dangerous and insecure containers) the UK is taking this very expensive step. bbc.com/news/articles/…

@grantsnz Yes remember the WHO saying "Covid 19 is spread by contact with surfaces" which defied logic and existing science. How many attributable deaths from the delay in addressing airborne spread and ventilation systems?
English

@grantsnz Just been to a conference of scientists developing drugs for metabolic syndrome. The problem is upstream bias. They sincerely believe that standard mouse chow is healthy&low carb. All research conclusions spring from that (eg add more fat.. worse outcomes.. "Must be the fat! ")

Do medical tailored meals improve T2 diabetes? Treatment group received home delivery of 12 meals weekly for 3 months + supports Meals per @American_Heart guidelines, each with 60g carb (add snack, 200g/d) 👉"Intervention uptake was good but did not improve clinical outcomes"

@KenDBerryMD False. Critical thinkers are routinely discouraged, cold shouldered or stigmatised.

@kust1983 @PGtzsche1 Resilience approaches may help the individual but allow the policy makers to ignore the upstream determinants. We need to keep up the pressure on the entitled people who have little incentive to push for reform

@PGtzsche1 Job and other things may be unavailable, but studying and practicing Stoicism (or cognitive behavioral therapy) as a depression treatment is available to everyone always

A doctor who saw a depressed unemployed person and suggested medication, got this indignant reply, “I don’t need medication; I need a job.” Unemployment, poverty, trauma, and other psychosocial factors are major risk factors for depression. bit.ly/3BupjFJ

@PenelopeFigtree @realDaveFeldman @lowcarb_aus Ooh that's an update! I thought it was the Trig/HDL ratio
English

Love learning from Prof Ken Sikaris. He suggests the total chol/ HDL ratio under 4.5 is the best measure of small dense LDL. Lots of @realDaveFeldman research discussed. #lowcarbdownunder @lowcarb_aus

🚨 The UK is banning #junkfood ads online and on TV before 9pm from 2025, including so-called 'healthy' foods like granola and rice crackers. 👏 Do you think it's time for Australia to step up and bring the same rules here? 🇦🇺 bbc.in/3B5tZSh #DefeatDiabetes #JunkFoodBan

@DefeatDiabetes_ @zoeharcombe @bigfatsurprise Monash university also publically say re. low carb diets for PCOS that "the evidence isn't there" So sad for people with PCOS to discourage such a potentially helpful and empowering approach.
English

So, Monash University believe 37.5% of total energy intake from carbs is a low carb diet? Hmmm... What do you reckon @ZoeHarcombe @BigFatSurprise ?
