I think sometimes your posts do feel like anti medication and possibly because of the language used and lack of balance with all or nothing statements. Is this account really typical ? Or just typical of the story's you hear due to your position and followers ? May I ask , based on your understanding , what % of patients take 20 years to come off an anti depressant ?;

A pharmacist tried to taper off antidepressants after being put on Prozac in her 20s. She followed her doctor’s instructions exactly. 25 years later, she’s still trying to get off. This is her story—and it’s more common than you think. A thread 👇

What did 1224 people who lived to be 100, as observed by the Swedish AMORIS study, have in common? Higher cholesterol levels and lower glucose levels than those who died younger. The narrative calls these associations "poor science." Real scientists call it a paradox.

TLDR. American dietary guidelines are rubbish. But we knew that. The researchers are more cautious. Conclusion = we think they are rubbish but we need to do more work to prove it. Let's not wait. Just Eat Real Food. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

#nonukes Peter Dutton hasn't accounted for this, because of the health hazards and prohibitive costs of "safe" storage (read permanent guards, dangerous and insecure containers) the UK is taking this very expensive step. bbc.com/news/articles/…

@grantsnz Yes remember the WHO saying "Covid 19 is spread by contact with surfaces" which defied logic and existing science. How many attributable deaths from the delay in addressing airborne spread and ventilation systems?

@grantsnz Just been to a conference of scientists developing drugs for metabolic syndrome. The problem is upstream bias. They sincerely believe that standard mouse chow is healthy&low carb. All research conclusions spring from that (eg add more fat.. worse outcomes.. "Must be the fat! ")

@kust1983 @PGtzsche1 Resilience approaches may help the individual but allow the policy makers to ignore the upstream determinants. We need to keep up the pressure on the entitled people who have little incentive to push for reform

A doctor who saw a depressed unemployed person and suggested medication, got this indignant reply, “I don’t need medication; I need a job.” Unemployment, poverty, trauma, and other psychosocial factors are major risk factors for depression. bit.ly/3BupjFJ

🚨 The UK is banning #junkfood ads online and on TV before 9pm from 2025, including so-called 'healthy' foods like granola and rice crackers. 👏 Do you think it's time for Australia to step up and bring the same rules here? 🇦🇺 bbc.in/3B5tZSh #DefeatDiabetes #JunkFoodBan
