Reformed folks: it is pragmatism to ignore genuine issues with the Moscow crowd (some of whom I have met and know personally) just because of the issues they get right.

The internet is now being cut in Iran because they don’t want people to see things like this: a man slaps a woman and thinks he can calmly walk away. Where such actions were commonplace before, there are now dire consequences - significantly handed out by other men.

A Calvinist is actually making the case that atheists find Calvinism more biblically consistent and largely disagree w/LFW, and this counts as evidence Calvinism is true. Appealing to unbelievers isn’t the flex they think it is.

1/ Today, someone told me that when Jesus said that he would create division within families (Matthew 10:34ff), he was carrying out violence.
When I dismissed this as a silly, bad faith take, it was put to me that I had clearly never read the Gospels.

I just want you to admit that being born into a religion does make you biased towards that religion.
You would need to find a person with no indoctrination or vested interest in order to accurately evaluate sugary drinks or religions

Same goes for your religious indoctrination. Would anybody really believe the research produced by someone with that bias? No

And much of my intellectual investigation and testing came later. But having biases, doesn't really make the thing more or less likely to be true.

I don't disagree here. But Matt made the right call on this one. If he made the film only for conservatives, it would make sense to include more theology. But not everyone is religious. Those arguments won't resonate with them. I think the scientific route was the way to go.
