proposal urging the United States to appoint a special envoy dedicated to Kurdish affairs is gaining increasing momentum and support. • The idea was promoted by Michael Scadden @mjscadden a specialist in international relations and geopolitical risks. • The proposal describes creating the position of a U.S. Special Envoy for Kurdish Affairs as an urgent recommendation. • The current U.S. approach to the Kurds (who are spread across multiple countries) is seen as fragmented and in need of better coordination. • The proposed envoy’s role would focus on unifying U.S. efforts in diplomatic, security, and economic areas. • It would provide a single dedicated channel for handling cross-border Kurdish issues, in coordination with regional governments. • The envoy would work closely with the State Department, Pentagon, and U.S. Central Command, with emphasis on: • Security cooperation • Reducing political tensions • Supporting economic development initiatives.

Amjad, we need the UAE to formulate a strong partnership with the Kurdish nation, regardless of their statuses. A strong and stable Middle East can be achieved if the UAE strengthens its ties and collaboration with Americans, Kurds, and Israelis, all of whom already share a long history together of standing against jihadists, proxies, and now the IRGC.

Time and again it has been proven that the literal survival of and level of prosperity achieved by minorities in the Middle East/MENA, is directly linked to their ability to defend themselves effectively, and how much autonomy and/or sovereignty they have established. Hence very different outcomes across time for Jews, Kurds, Druze, Yazidis, and various ethnic Christian minorities, amongst others.
