I mean that with Tempo I can't find traces for service=X, operation=Y and tag=Z in some time period. It's common usecase.

@bwplotka @grafana @RedHat @ThanosMetrics But that's not duplicating. We store different data in logging & tracing systems. I can't search through logs if there are no logs for smth but spans exist :)

So, we rolled out a new cache for an internal service... Check out the change in the latency distribution just *after* the rollout (in blue) vs. an hour prior, with the old version of the code (in red).
