@mkloetz @KirkKerbstreit Well if the result is the best fan experience, then I’ll take it. No idea what else they could do. Cheap ticket prices, a lottery, cheap concessions, fair priced merch. What else could they do? Have the members give back rubs to all guests?

What would you pay to attend the Masters? The Masters has officially surpassed The Super Bowl and World Cup as the most expensive sports ticket. $2,000 for practice round $16,000 for Thursday $8,000 for Sunday. Why? The Masters has started cracking down on resellers, so the supply is very limited. Resellers have been losing their ticket privileges if caught, so now it’s happening only on true black market channels. People have wanted Augusta to stop resellers for years. But there is a downside. Now if you don’t win the lottery, you are screwed. Almost no chance of ever attending. Before you could at least bucket list it and do it once. Not sure if this is good or bad for the fans, though I get why Augusta is doing it.

@KyleTuckerCBB I think it’s awesome and the players love it. It feels way less cavernous in this setup than when they used to corner part of it off and you had this big empty part of the building.

It will never not be absurd to play the biggest three college basketball games of the season in a giant cavern.

@Sturdy32 It’s always cool to be in the building for big events, but I’d actually say 80% of the seats at football stadium Final 4 are terrible. They should offer free back & neck massages to people who sit in the lower sideline seats near the endzones and have to crane their neck all game

@Clevta I’m a Michigan fan but I’ve long thought 1992 was a butterfly effect game. If Ohio St won, I think they beat Cincy and coin toss game vs Duke. Maybe the OSU fanbase in general would be the same today regardless of result but I think it would have elevated expectations long term

This is not advice and not predictive (obviously). Just interesting that #6 seeds have been terrible in the tournament historically. 0-5 ATS in the Elite 8 since 2010. In fact according to the great The 2026 NCAA Tournament Watchlist: Elite Eight (Sunday) blog, the Fab 5 in 92 was the last 6 seed to make the F4. As a very young Buckeye fan that was a heartbreaker considering it was my fav OSU bball team of all time. If only Jent could've hit that baseline J. I think Purdue wins tonight but I have to assume this 3pt shooting cools off and really interested to see if TX can take advantage if it does cool off. Went back over the last 25 years and could only find 16 other teams that shot >50% from 3 in the first two rounds like Purdue (a bunch were also elite off tms with great shooting). -In the SW16 these teams went 4-12 ATS and 4-12 SU. - 25% win % vs pre game win expectancy of 47% -7 of the 16 tms were favored but only 2 won outright -In aggregate these tms shot 55% from 3 in the first two rounds but just 36% in the SW16. Only one team (2015 UNC) shot over 50% again in the SW16 while seven of the 16 tms shot <30% from 3
