@mli002i @IsabelMiles @RoyalFamily It is. This memorial covers quite a large chunk of St. James's Park. It's a walk with statues, not a single statue.

Today The King and Queen were joined by other members of the Royal Family at the British Museum to view a scale model of the new national memorial to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II. Their Majesties and Their Royal Highnesses met memorial designer Lord Norman Foster as well as the three artists producing work for the site. The model will remain on public display at the British Museum. The tribute will overlook The Mall in central London, and is inspired by the 1955 portrait of the Queen at age 28 by Italian artist Pietro Annigon.

@mli002i @RoyalFamily There are enough buildings etc with her name. There are already 9 statues of her in UK. We paid billions for her when she was alive & are paying similarly for her offspring. It is appalling that we are paying more money now she's dead. The money could have been put to better use.

Big mistake not to include a horse in the memorial to the late Queen….

@mli002i @RoyalFamily I agree. It is disrespectful to the hard working tax payers who gave her a privileged life and are still paying for her in her death.

The complete lack of ambition in this country to build anything of scale any more infuriates me. You can fault Trump’s arch all you like… But compare its stature to the little plinth celebrating our longest reigning monarch. Embarrassing.

Restore Britain should pledge to restore Sycamore Gap. The French restored Notre Dame in record time. I'm sure we could find a suitably tall and similarly shaped sycamore tree and transplant it where the old one once stood. Even if we had to airlift it into place by Chinook. We should make it a great patriotic endeavour. It would lift the spirits of the whole nation.
