@mlrethlefsen @carrieprice78 “The only qualification to submit this form is that you have previously been an author on a peer-reviewed evidence synthesis publication.” Noted for those of us who are interested, but aren’t yet published/have only been acknowledged contributors not authors 🙂

@Llipke3 It's purposefully that way to differentiate quality of reporting from quality of methods. Of course, it influences the quality of the methods if stuff's not there to assess. ROBIS includes missing information as part of their tool.

I am glad to let you know that my new role as of this August will be AUL for Special Collections at Cornell University Library. Our memory work is critical to creating a more just, equitable, and sustainable society. Let's dig in to our important work!

@mlrethlefsen So, the MLA/Copyright police aren't going to come after me? I can't remember if we have the right to deposit after the event or what the terms are...(yes, I should read what I sign/click through, lol)

Not-smart question that I should know the answer to: are conference papers and posters from MLA (Medical Library Association) ok for deposit into institutional repositories? Or are they essentially only accessible (for all time) through the conference site?

News just in - apparently @PLOSONE don’t consider meta-analyses to be ‘a study of any kind’; and are therefore not suitable for their Registered Report format.

@DFanDaBiasedMan @LexBouter Agreed, exact reproduction of a database search is unattainable due to database changes over time. That being said, if the number of results is over 1000% different, it's a pretty good sign the search reported wasn't the search conducted

I see the problem with not detailing the sources and process. But the objective of exactly reproducing a systematic review seems unattainable. Databases change over time, and syst. revs include arbitrary components (e.g. check refs lists, incl/excl. criteria). I think that "transparency" captures the nature of the issue here better than "reproducibility".

@carrieprice78 @libraryvines Sad, but true. I keep hoping if #medlibs start citing PRISMA-S, it will get mimicked in the literature and a few people here and there might read it and learn. Even we aren't always on top of naming databases searched, though (e.g., only listing Web of Science, Cochrane Library)

@amybethreyes I have heard some libraries are permanently transitioning to keycard access only by directive of their institutions, with public access via appointment

Question for my #MedLibs colleagues, especially at public universities: are you reopen to the public yet? If not, why not? What is your threshold/plan for reopening? Struck me today that my state medical school library is still closed to the public even as PHE ends…
