Mike Harris, who made private long term care legal in Ontario, was the chair of Chartwell for years, well into the pandemic. The Canadian military was deployed to Chartwell LTCs to pick up and dispose of dead seniors who died of thirst, starvation and neglect.

My mother-in-law is in hospital, unstable, struggling to breathe, not safe on her own. And someone walks in with a brochure for Chartwell Retirement Residences. Not a care plan. A sales pitch. In an Ontario hospital. This is the reality after years of underfunding by Doug Ford, families pushed to “find somewhere to go.”

i want to point out that Jeffrey Dahmer got a last meal, Ghislaine Maxwell got a therapy puppy, but a 7 year old couldn’t get a glass of water and died in custody due to dehydration. We are completely broken

@deeb_nina @chrisglover Depends on the Arbitration process? If its like MLB free agency the risk to the taxpayer increases. If it instead skewed to advantage either party how it is skewed determines taxpayer risk. The selection of the Arbitrators of course probably matters more than anything.

#ONpoli In addition to Doug Ford's staff seeing an 11% increase in salaries, Doug Ford's daughter Kara Ford has seen a 65% salary bump since 2022, including a 34% raise last year at Runnymede Healthcare Centre. She is now the 6th highest paid person in THE ENTIRE HOSPITAL.
