The reason why background in traditional animation is so beautiful is because it is made by a person sitting in front of a sheet with paint. It isn't a subjective thing, when you can't zoom in (like in digital), then you have an overview about what is gonna be visible and how much visible. So you will end up being very concious about how to design, about where to put details and where not and everything is gated by the size of the tools and the size of the sheet. Another important aspect is how much you can work on a background, you can't take shortcuts so you wouldn't waste time painting something that won't be visible.

"Maybe we could help each other" Doing some analogue work feels very much like touching grass so working traditionally while imagining the nice cooling shadows from the canopy really felt like it went hand in hand in a serene type of way 🍃🍂

@m0rningbreez AHH thank you!! And for any shikishi illustrations, I won't be doing any direct replications to preserve the value/uniqueness of it for whoever it ends up with! But I am certainly considering doing similar stuff for prints and prints will def come eventually/soon 🙂‍↕️🙏💖

@yamina__123 They're great! These are all good Japanese brands of waterproof, copic-proof fine-liner pens. A good German brand is Staedtler! And thank you so much 💚
