Luos, let’s stop lying to ourselves. We need men from ODM with courage, not mouthpieces, to speak the truth: why did 900,000 of our own people refuse to vote for Raila Odinga in 2022? This isn’t speculation, this is fact staring us in the face. Look at how the same people who abandoned Raila in the ballot turned up in droves to mourn him. Crying, wailing, selfies with banners but in 2022, when it mattered most, they were silent, absent, or worse, supporting the other side. Let’s face it: Baba lost because Luos failed him. Not the system, not Raila’s legacy, not fake narratives about manipulation. The truth is bitter, but it’s the truth: 1 million Kikuyus voted for Raila, yet hundreds of thousands of Luos refused. And we wonder why Ruto sees Nyanzans as easy targets, why he prefers sending attacks through Luo proxies instead of dealing with his own. We are emotional, impulsive, and easily swayed. We let slogans, empty promises, and tribal favoritism dictate our votes. We cried for Raila after the fact, but in 2022 we betrayed him with our silence. Brutal? Yes. True? Absolutely. It’s time we look in the mirror, swallow pride, and admit: if we cannot be loyal when it counts, we cannot claim any moral high ground. Raila lost because we let him down. Period.
