I do not understand why we #Somalis do not take up the debate about #AMISOM. They have been in country for 15y, security has not changed & the state lacks control over large parts. Does AMISOM contribute to increased security or is #Somalia just a project for certain countries??

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

Why did Somalis build a house in honor of former President @M_Farmaajo? For many outside Somalia, this may seem unusual. But for many Somalis it is not about personality cults — it is about a period when the state began to function again. Under his leadership, people experienced something they had not felt for a long time: hope. • The military was rebuilt • Soldiers and civil servants received salaries digitally and directly — corruption decreased • The economy gradually began to stabilize • State-building gained clear direction • Foreign policy gained strategy and independence • International actors once again operated inside Somalia But perhaps most importantly: When he left office, he documented his work and handed over power. In a country where transitions of power often create crises, this became for many a symbol of trust, accountability, and respect for the state. The fact that these documents are now also being presented and verified is seen by many as further confirmation that he was a responsible and reliable president. Therefore, this house is not just a building. For many, it represents a period in which they experienced leadership they could trust — and a state that once again began to belong to its people.

PM @HamzaAbdiBarre has stated that he does not recognize @PresidentMadobe as the President of Jubaland. This position reveals a striking inconsistency. Only five years ago, PM Hamza served as the chair of the Jubaland electoral committee and was a key defender of the electoral model commonly referred to as «3 ii keen hal aan kala boxo» - a negotiated, elite-driven selection process. In this regard, Ahmed Madobe is not introducing a new political practice. On the contrary, he is operating within the same electoral framework that has governed Jubaland for the past fifteen years. The real change, therefore, is not institutional but political. It lies in PM Hamza’s own position. A model he previously endorsed and legitimized is now being rejected because its outcome runs counter to the interests of his current government. This shift underscores a lack of ideological consistency and raises questions about principled leadership. It reflects neither adherence to a coherent political doctrine nor a pragmatism grounded in institutional stability. In light of this history, PM Hamza should issue a formal apology to the Somali public, and in particular to the people of Jubaland, for his role and actions as head of the electoral committee. Such an acknowledgment would be a necessary step toward political accountability. Only then can his current statements carry genuine credibility and political weight. Waqooyi Bari, hambalyo markale, adinku inma quseeyso arrinkaan!

@AbukarOsman1 demonstrated at the UN how Somalia’s interests should be defended: with knowledge, precision, and dignity. He dismantled Israel’s arguments, corrected misinformation, and delivered a clear lesson on Somalia’s historical foundations. This is professionalism in action — deep expertise, diplomatic weight, and a strong sense of national responsibility combined. Amb. Abukar Cusmaan Baale should be the benchmark for the kind of public servants Somalia needs. Somalia’s Name of the Year. A true statesman. Adeer, jir oo joog! 🇸🇴

Israel’s alleged recognition of Somaliland constitutes a serious violation of Somalia’s sovereignty and international law. Somalia must respond in unity—through legal, diplomatic, and multilateral action. Territorial integrity is not negotiable.” 🇸🇴⚖️🌍 Dalkeenu waa midd, Dadkeenu waa midd!
