@ForeverHoosier @Frediculous radiation does not require belief, using the word physical doesn't really matter - it's what in the realm of the testable reality we all share that's important

Disturbed's Midjourney-infused video is... disturbing. youtube.com/watch?v=fpUpVz… They should have combined it with the lip-synching First Order Model...

COVID-19 has erased two decades of life expectancy growth in the US. Yet, leaders are still trying to gaslight us into believing that the US had one of the best responses to the pandemic. #Life%20expectancy%20at%20birth%20in%20years,%201980-2021" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">healthsystemtracker.org/chart-collecti…

@Snowden content moderation will always include censorship and pretending computers can be nice about it compared to humans is foolhardy; "algorithmic choice" is just a smokescreen for implementing some human choices and ignoring the ones you dont like

Jack is one of the only folks willing to speak a hard truth: a site that answers one censorship demand inevitably finds itself facing millions. It will never be free. Censorship might help your business, but it hurts society. The moderation problem requires a different answer.
jack@jack

1. Social media must be resilient to corporate and government control. 2. Only the original author may remove content they produce. 3. Moderation is best implemented by algorithmic choice.

Me : 0 Azure Cloud storage : 1 even if you think you are a smart ass and write only data, I will still charge you egress fees for reading the metadata of the existing files.

@arrowdrive I'd say a lot more, a tutorial, a real gui, a useful mouse, but I think there's probably a lot of mechanics that still require trial and error to fully get

This trick is simple and will dramatically improve your data viz. What's the 1 takeaway of your analysis? Pick a highlight color for it. I like red, blue, or black. Put everything else in grey or 30% opacity. Now you've communicated what's important, not just what happened.
Cole Knaflic@storywithdata

"Where are your eyes drawn?"—it's an easy test to see whether your graph or slide directs attention where you want it. In the Dec #SWDchallenge, we prompt you to put it into practice, improving an existing #dataviz by making it crystal clear where to look: community.storytellingwithdata.com/challenges/dec…

@mobileck If you've got some stability bravo. I, on the other hand, seem to be experiencing some weird version of entropy where things just keep getting worse.
