For what its worth, I think John Healey has been a decent defence secretary. He has to work within the constraints of the cabinet system, and in reality, has little room for manoeuvre anyway. Seems a genuine sort who understands defence, and that goes a long way in my book.

@ModernNavy The other worst decision was the early retirement of the Puma HC.2. Neither have a replacement until Leonardo forced HMG to buy the Cheetah HC.1. Not the case with the two LPH's though. Never mind, at least the military housing debacle is being sorted.

John - you are misleading people again - there have been real term cuts to defence money because you have increased the liabilities against the defence budget - great in housing well done ! Agreements with allies - they have always existed !! You haven’t delivered on your Strategic Defence review nor outlined a plan to do so and you have failed to publish a defence investment plan leading to companies carrying more risk at a time Rachael Reeves is hitting them hard - scorecard so far D- and I’m being generous !!
