New jobs in the health care and social services industry sectors continue to dominate any employment gains the state of Colorado has seen so far this year.

Latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics highlights that Colorado added 11,800 new payroll jobs in April with, once again, the health care and social assistance industry sectors continuing to lead the way. Colorado reported a total of 2,967,800 employees in April 2026. In the same month last year, Colorado reported a total of 2,963,900 employees.

Reasons why folks don’t feel good about the economy:  Trump’s illegal war→higher gas prices Trump’s illegal war→higher food costs  Trump’s illegal tariffs→robbing businesses  Trump’s illegal tariffs→Trumpflation

According to the latest U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data, the civilian labor force in Colorado, the grand total of all Coloradans 16 and older who are either employed or who have been actively looking for employment in the last four weeks, decreased by 12,291 in April 2026 to 3,215,579. Since January 2025, the civilian labor force in Colorado has decreased by 57,475.

@SenatorHick How do you plan to pay for lowering costs for working families, and why didn't you do this between 2020 and 2024? The only reason health care is expensive for EVERYONE (except for elderly politicians) is that the vast majority of all new jobs being added are in that industry!

Enough with the money for slush funds, bombs, and tax breaks for billionaires. Republicans created a healthcare emergency by letting ACA subsidies expire, putting coverage at risk for millions of Americans.  We need to get back to lowering costs for working families. washingtonpost.com/health/2026/05…

@RepPettersen For every child to feel safe, we need to remove all the illegal alien criminals who prey on children and young women, not that Democrats care much about women and children any more ...

Gas is over $4/gallon, and health premiums are skyrocketing. Instead of focusing on the pressing issues so many of us are facing, the GOP is attacking trans students to score cheap political points on the backs of our most vulnerable kids. Every child should feel safe and supported in our schools, in our communities, and in our country.
Congressional Equality Caucus@EqualityCaucus

🚨BAD BILL ALERT🚨 The House is beginning debate on a GOP Forced Outing and Don’t Say Trans bill that would force schools to out trans students in certain situations—even if it puts them in danger—and censor trans-inclusive content in schools. Here’s what you need to know:

@modonnell What's your point? I had up to 14 people living next to me in a 2 bedroom + loft + tent in garage. Is this about voting, or affordable housing?

According to the Colorado voter roll, there are NINE active-status registered voters in this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in Las Animas county, plus 14 other inactive-status registrants who apparently lived there until failry recently. The (alleged) current occupants are males aged 30, 38, 39, 53 and 83, and females aged 52, 54, 56 and 78. The assessor's office shows that the 83 and 78 y.o. individuals jointly own the property. Everyone else apparently shares the other two bedrooms. (I bet meals and bathroom visits are fun.) Nothing suspicious from a voter roll perspective going on here at all ... Jenna Griswold is on top of things.

Trump just gifted himself a get-out-of-jail-free card. The Justice Department “forever barred” itself from investigating tax crimes committed by Trump, his businesses, or his family. Insane levels of corruption.

Just in case you are still in the process of planning your summer getaway, I'm sure you've noticed that gasoline and airline ticket prices are each up more than 20 percent over the year ... Hmmm, recreational books and a lawn chair in the back yard?

@BubblesNCOS I'm only pointing out anomalies on the CO voter roll that are easy to check and clean up, if necessary. Here is a list of all the people on the public voter roll registered at this address. It is public information. (Active at top, inactive below.) Anyone can find it.

@ianfirth Cool, I won't tell the county assessor. They think it only has three bedrooms.

@modonnell That's a 3,000 sq/ft home with 6 bedrooms if they finished out that basement. Here's next door.

Unaccounted? The SOS sends A LOT of ballots to people who no longer live here - officially 323,216 were returned undeliverable in 2024 (that cost us a lot!) and I estimate that for every ballot returned undeliverable, one or two go into the trash. We waste a lot of money in CO

@wccawa @GovtsTheProblem Many larger counties let you download a voter roll and then you can sort by addresses to see how many people are at each residence. I am using ELLY (theelectorlist.com) which is free and they are looking for volunteers to help review the CO data (too much just for me).

Yes. you certainly can. You can even change your mailing address to wherever you might be if you will be there for a while. In this case, the two owners have the same last name but none of the other seven active registrants or even any of the other fourteen inactive registrants, had any names in common.

@modonnell People are allowed to live out of state and still vote at a residence in CO. When I was a traveling nurse I used my father’s address to vote in CO.
