The process was slow, painful, and carried out largely by local civil defense workers and grieving relatives. 3- More than 40% of those recovered were children. 4- Despite the scale of the tragedy and the extraordinary delay in recovering the victims, no major Western mainstream media outlets reported on the recovery.
