#WATCH | Mumbai: Model Rhiya Yadav Ahir, one of the faces of the protest at Mumbai's Shivaji Park on July 22, files a Police complaint over social media comments against her. She says, "We all know whose these people are. I will identify each one of them. When you get a platform, among the crores of people who are appreciating you, you will get a few who will speak against you. Everyone has the right to put forth their opinion but nobody has the right to degrade or malign anyone. This movement was about the rights of all of us, and not about a party, religion or individual...I will continue to take a stand against everything that is wrong. Don't be scared and keep at it..."

Illegal Construction Racket Thriving in BMC L-Ward: Why Are 22 Unauthorized Structures Still Standing Despite Repeated Complaints?. Serious allegations have emerged regarding rampant illegal construction in BMC's L-Ward, particularly in Division No. 168 around Maharashtra Kanta, Angels Ceramic, LBS Road and nearby areas. According to the report, at least 22 unauthorized structures, including illegal hotels, guest houses, lodges and commercial buildings, continue to function despite repeated complaints. It is alleged that old structures are demolished and illegally reconstructed into multi-storey buildings without obtaining the mandatory permissions from the BMC. One such case involves an alleged 15,000 sq. ft. illegal construction by Anis near Maharashtra Kanta, where construction activities reportedly continue openly. Another alleged unauthorized multi-storey building is said to have been developed near Hall Village Road by contractor Kalan, while further illegal construction has also been highlighted near Hotel Delight on Hall Village Road. The report further raises questions over the role of BMC officials, alleging that enforcement action has been limited to issuing notices while unauthorized constructions continue to expand. Questions have been raised regarding the responsibilities of AE Nivedan Torane and JE Manoj Hulge, with residents demanding that the BMC immediately carry out demolition of all illegal structures, initiate strict proceedings under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act, and conduct an independent inquiry to fix accountability wherever violations or administrative lapses are found. Citizens have urged the civic administration to ensure transparent and impartial enforcement of the law and to take prompt action against every unauthorized construction without exception. @mybmc @mybmcwardl @ashwinibhide @acb_maharashtra @cmomaharashtra @mieknathshinde @misanjayghadi @tawderitu

🚨 Questions Raised Over the Role of AE Nivedan Torane and JE Manoj Hulge of @mybmcWardL . CORRUPT PRACTICES IS BOOM. L-Ward, particularly Division 168 near Maharashtra Kanta and Angels Ceramic, is witnessing rampant illegal construction, with unauthorized hotels, guest houses, lodges, and multi-storey buildings allegedly being developed without the required BMC approvals. Residents have raised serious concerns over the lack of effective enforcement despite repeated complaints. Questions are now being raised about whether this inaction is due to negligence or external pressure on concerned officials, including AE Nivedan Torane and JE Manoj Hulge. Citizens are demanding an immediate investigation, strict action under the MRTP Act against all unauthorized constructions, and accountability of every officer found responsible. The people of Mumbai deserve transparent governance and enforcement of the law without fear or favour. @mybmc @TawdeRitu @mieknathshinde @misanjayghadi @KishoriPednekar @ashwinibhide @cmomharashtra @acb_maharashtra

The courts have no time. The union home minister has no time to clarify how this happened (both Delhi Police and the CRPF come directly under him). Godi media focuses on the dress Amit Shah wore to parliament instead of asking these questions.

Well done, The Hindu, by putting it on the top of the front page today. This issue has to remain in focus and the Delhi police commissioner and the union home ministry can't be allowed to get away with such use of unprovoked violence on young students.

Mumbai | A video from a protest in Dadar has gone viral, with Opposition leaders alleging that a plainclothes police officer inappropriately touched and manhandled a woman protester while detaining demonstrators. The incident sparked widespread criticism on social media, with several leaders demanding strict action against the officer. After the video went viral, Mumbai Police issued an official clarification, stating that the officer's actions were being misinterpreted. According to the police, the officer was restraining a male protester and looking in another direction when the female protester accidentally came in between. The police added that senior officers have verified the incident and urged people not to draw conclusions based only on the viral clip. #MumbaiPolice #MumbaiProtest #ViralVideo #Maharashtra #Punetimesmirror

🚨 AE BELDAR UNDER SCANNER – WHO IS PROTECTING ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION IN L WARD? Fresh allegations have emerged regarding an unauthorized construction at Beetaj Washing Center, 26/B, Nari Seva Sadan Road, Ghatkopar West, reportedly measuring around 2,000 sq. ft. The site is said to fall under the jurisdiction of AE Beldar. If this construction is illegal, why has it not been stopped? Has any inspection been carried out? Were stop-work notices issued? If the structure has valid approvals, the L Ward administration should place those permissions in the public domain. If not, the continued construction raises serious questions about enforcement and accountability. The Municipal Commissioner and the L Ward administration must immediately inspect the site, verify all records, halt any unauthorized work, and initiate a transparent inquiry into the role of the concerned officers. No official should be above scrutiny, and municipal laws must be enforced without fear or favour. @mybmc @mybcmwardl @ashiwinibhide @tawderitu @misanjayghadi @kishoripednekar @acb_maharashtra
