Besides the numerous earth dams my Government has rehabilitated in all Sub-Counties within Machakos, we are focussed on constructing at least two weirs in each Ward in order to boost irrigation capacity in subsistence farming.
I am happy that Machakos residents have taken full advantage of these enablers to undertake small-scale irrigation for vegetable and food crop growing.
This has ultimately rolled back poverty and increased income in rural households in line with our Chakula Mezani Pesa Mfukoni philosophy.
