@0xAlaric Super cool! Did any of the local gov/people that you spoke to seem interested or at least not hostile to further archaeological work on this? Would be cool to see work to uncover these without an Australian Aboriginal style destruction or blockage.
I am receiving reports on the ground that Chimp Group Center’s counteroffensive has breached CGW’s screening line and is exploiting toward the Primate Lodge! Group West reserves have been unable to deploy due to FPVs on the forest trail! Alpha Male Morton commands the operation.
Pro tip: If you or your wife can speak another language, it’s the easiest thing in the world to raise a bilingual child. It is then easy to introduce a third language when they turn 3 or 4 by hiring a foreign au pair, which is also a good excuse to … hire a foreign au pair
@Peter_Nimitz Empire Earth Russian campaign mission 1, as a kid I did not understand how to play that well and could never win against the onslaught. Great game I still hear the voice lines and sound effects in my head!
Strange to think that Battlefield 3 and Empire Earth were the most prescient works I was familiar with in my childhood. I assumed that Kharg Island was a fictional construct like Middle Earth 2010-2016.
I feel like on the surface Sabrina Carpenter and Sydney Sweeney are in the same league but Sabrina does absolutely nothing for me whereas Sydney would be on the side of my P-51 as I strafed airfields in Japan
@memeticsisyphus I feel like this kind of defeats the point of why you would even get into something like this. Quick drawing your revolver seems more like an art to be perfected in form, not to optimize it like a dork.
@L0m3z I remember being in grad school when Toby Keith died. I was in class when other students heard the news and began making fun of him and his songs - many of them foreign students. He wasn’t even a political figure, they just enjoy seeing us die.
Stop worshipping Elon, the dude is very good at many things but he is not deserving of your fanatacism.
Elon has NO ANSWER TO THIS GRAPH.
NOBODY DOES.
You will NEVER balance this budget under a democracy.
On V-WW2-Day, I would recommend reading some books about late-1944–1945 specifically. For some reason, Americans don't know much about the last year of the war because we tend to mentally fast-forward to the end.
Highlighting this one part of the reply because it's emblematic of the whole debate
The "Cash for Clunkers" program - in the name of some vaguely progressive goals - systematically and *intentionally destroyed* the cars you could "buy for $25"
Why? The alleged motivation was that older cars were build and sold under less restrictive regulations around emissions and fuel usage and destroying billions of dollars of very important capital would therefore be a good idea
"Cash for clunkers" paid people and so had short-term support but x years later you can see the effects - it was one thing that helped killed the path to a decent life - can't buy a "starter car" that can get you from place to place - "too polluting, was destroyed by USG"
Naturally, the actual progressive motivations never line up with the claimed justification - the claimed justification is just there to sound good enough that people won't object. Their actual motivation is anger and revulsion that people do not want to "live in the pod and eat the bugs" so they destroy the things that enable people to avoid that
These silent preferences by them are everywhere, working constantly. Every regulation put on businesses that has downstream effects that make any path other than "live in the pod, eat the bugs" (and even more honestly, "this society has no place for you at all") - they're thrilled about the conditions that gave rise to the "work debate" going on right now on the timeline. Their functionaries are out there looking for ways to make life worse because their ideological glue is that life should be worse for the people they hate and fear - young men with vitality
