movie was written and started production in the years following 08 and all the populist outrage against the 1% and wall street. just because occupy came along as the film started production doesn't mean the script/film wasn't influenced by that atmosphere

what I find funny about Christopher Nolan is that he is still a very conservative guy who often makes movies with an almost fascist messaging, but because he's vaguely progressive about individual freedoms and doesn't openly hate minorities he's now denounced as Woke by the right

It feels more like an indictment of ANYBODY who leads a class revolt rather than a critique of right-wing populism. The movie is a response to Occupy. In many ways Bane is Occupy.
