Daniel got important clarifications from NVIDIA. TLDR: the "DLSS5 skeptical" were right about *everything*. 1⃣ It's a 2D AI Filter. Input is only color buffer & motion vectors. The model doesn't see geometry, lights, PBR properties, normals, anything🧵 youtu.be/D0EM1vKt36s

My guess is that Anthropic releases audited financial statements once a month or once a quarter or something, and the lawyers used the last official number, which was a few weeks out of date.

In a recent legal filing, Anthropic said that its revenue "exceed[ed] $5 billion to date." @edzitron says other Anthropic statements indicate it was more than $6 billion and that "these two statements do not match up." But, um, $6 billion exceeds $5 billion?

so it’s not just intensely bad lighting right? and to be clear: i think what they showed looked quite bad. showcasing the tech with the sensational new “it” girl of video games Grace Ashcroft may have sounded like a good idea, but people love her as she is presented naturally

@IGN So they are now saying they are using gen-ai on the geometry now? lol

@maiamindel This film didn't inspire me to action more than the lives and ideals of my own parents did, therefore it's bad

MANHUNT was a 2003 Rockstar game about a death row inmate freed by a Hollywood Director and his billionaire financier to murder people for snuff films in a nearly abandoned Rust Belt city. Boy I sure am glad nothing like that could ever happen in real life.

I do not believe for a second that our military targeted an elementary school. But if an errant American missile accidentally killed a building filled with children, we should take responsibility for it, not sweep it under the rug. nytimes.com/2026/03/08/wor… via @NYTimes

@Inspirenaire It was probably from a cut that a TV network made in order to make more space for commercials. TBS famously sped up Seinfeld by like 8% to squeeze in more ads

This clip shows how original versions of TV shows have been shortened via syndication and streaming. But the bigger takeaway is that most people don’t realize it. In an era where books are being banned and original materials are becoming harder to find. This is just a small/fun example of that concept. If we don’t hold on to original copies of books, newspapers, magazines, vinyl, commercial VHS tapes, television recorded VHS tapes, cassette tapes, DVDs, original news broadcasts etc, we will watch history be edited with holes in it where things are missing and presented as though it is the complete picture. Here’s a light example of that concept.

Thief (1981) Dir. Michael Mann Quentin Tarantino on Michael Mann and the influence of Thief. '"Everyone heard about after the fact that he just kept a water truck on his set all the time just to constantly wet down streets. And then all of a sudden that became the thing for directors to do. "Thief looks fantastic. Let's get a water truck and let's just wet down these night streets and throw lights on them." ...when you're saying it affected your work, I mean, there's lines in Thief that affected my life. Insofar as I have always lived my life trying to be like James Caan insofar as I am Joe Boss of my own life. I am Joe Boss! and I am Joe Boss of my own life!"'

Sometimes I still feel like that 16-year-old girl from Goose Creek. "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask where the good way is, and walk in it." — Jeremiah 6:16 I chose to walk in it. I dropped out of school, got a job at Waffle House, and bet on myself when no one else would. I became the first woman to graduate from The Citadel Corps of Cadets, leading the path for every 16-year-old girl who comes after me. Today, I am the first Republican woman elected to Congress from South Carolina. I will never be silenced. I will never back down. I will be the next Governor of South Carolina.

Deus Ex developers Ricardo Bare and Harvey Smith look back on Deus Ex: Invisible War and the reasons leading to the game's turbulent development: - There was worry coming from Eidos that 'FPS games don’t sell' or 'RPGs don’t sell', so, there was pressure from Eidos for Invisible War to be a console game. - In 2001, a studio-wide decision was made for all projects at Ion Storm Austin to use Unreal Engine 2. - Ion Storm Austin had 2 teams working on Invisible War as well as Thief: Deadly Shadows. - UE2 was heavily modified in favor of Thief: Deadly Shadows, with improved shadow and lighting system fit for smaller environments. - It was a decision that later "tanked development" of Invisible War, a project more "object-dense", according to Ricardo Bare. - Deus Ex team had to compartmentalise, the game was being built for the baseline Xbox console, which had memory constraints, hence why there are many loading screens. - Harvey Smith acknowledges the game angered most hardcore Deus Ex followers, and that disappointing the fans hurt him. - Smith wishes they could redo the game and stitch the maps together. @jbillinson Like TriviaHQ, I think there's a great concept behind the idea of "every user interacts with the app at the same time", but no one's quite figured it out yet
