It seems the system is further north than predicted today, potentially bringing a wider risk of snowfall across southern England. All eyes on the radar.

Heavy showers are developing across western areas in the past few hours, pushing into inland areas overnight, potentially bringing localised dusting of snow in places. Isolated lightning strikes might also embed in the heavier showers as well

@moo_mina @Met4CastUK we went all the way to Scotland over Xmas from Devon only for the snow to arrive in all the places we visited the day after we left each place 🙃🤣 and we live North Devon by the coast so rarely get it here either 😆

SNOW RISK - MONDAY Snow clearing NE England during the morning but with strong north-westerly winds heavy sleet/snow showers are likely to develop NW Scotland, N Ireland and in through Wales. Small disturbances may develop in the flow may give longer spells of snowfall, especially across Ireland, Wales down towards the London area & later in the day SW England. Whilst significant accumulations are unlikely, a covering of 2-3CM locally is possible to lower levels.
