@zoink @getthinkable I really don't understand your company. As far as you're concerned, Figma is still innovating, yet the stock price is hitting new lows. Perhaps management has long known about Figma's fundamental problems: without improving the basics, there are still many bugs.

1. Design systems are not dead. If anything, design systems are broadening in a world with more screens, more modalities and more context.
2. Strong agree on second point. As software gets easier to build, design is the differentiator. This is the era of creative exploration!

The Design System era is dead. Top-down design is forever broken. Having a consistent aesthetic may have been nice in the past, but today there are too many players and too many creative possibilities to dictate a single aesthetic for the entire world. The future belongs to those who embrace the broad multitude of creative expression rather than those attempting to tame it.
