In 2022, South Carolina “Republican” Attorney General candidate David Pascoe, a lifelong Democrat, appeared on Trump hater Will Folks’s @TheWillFolks show to describe how he weaponized justice against Jim Merrill, who served as President Trump’s South Carolina State Director in 2016 for his Presidential campaign.
During the interview, Pascoe spoke about the conviction of prominent South Carolina Republican Bobby Harrell, the Former Speaker of the South Carolina House of Representatives, and how it led his team to want to go after more Republicans:
“Well we convicted Bobby Harrell in October…I think it was in September of 2014. The SLED agents on the case continued to hammer me ‘Solicitor, what about these other people that we mentioned in the file? Why isn’t anybody looking at them? The attorney general’s office isn’t looking at Merrill and Quinn and the other allegations we have in the report.’ They were pretty fired up about it.”
Pascoe went on to say during the interview just how excited he became once he learned he could work around South Carolina AG Alan Wilson to “Get Jim Merrill.”
“But the Attorney General went to Richard Quinn for advice on how to get me off of the probe…” Well finally the deputy attorney general at the AG’s office relented. I got a letter out of nowhere, ‘Here, the file is yours. Take it.”
As I previously exposed, David Pascoe has deep connections to @JoeBiden’s most prominent inner circle as Hunter Biden’s lawyer Dick Harpootlian @HarpootlianSC has been funding Pascoe for over 15 years, while Jim Clyburn, who saved Biden’s 2020 campaign, endorsed Pascoe as recently as 2024.

Pascoe’s close Biden connections don’t end there. In May of 2024, South Carolina Democrat Congressman Jim Clyburn @RepJamesClyburn, endorsed Pascoe’s 1st Circuit Solicitor reelection campaign. Following J6, Clyburn called for President Trump to be impeached and has accused President Trump of being a “racist” on multiple occasions. Biden went on to win South Carolina convincingly, generating crucial momentum that propelled him to sweep Super Tuesday, secure the Democrat nomination, and ultimately installed himself as “President” when he stole the 2020 Presidential election from President Trump. Clyburn even took credit for this in a 2025 op-ed published on his official U.S. Congressional website, writing: “Biden’s 29-point victory in South Carolina’s 2020 Presidential Primary catapulted him into the presidency, and what a presidency it has been.” Biden also referenced this during his 2020 South Carolina victory speech, saying: “My buddy Jim Clyburn… you brought me back!” Pascoe has been attempting to sell himself to South Carolina voters as a moderate Democrat turned Republican. Some South Carolina voters have no idea that Pascoe was a Democrat his entire life and has been a registered “Republican” for less than one year.
