I don’t know. But the claim that the departing US forces blew up their HC-130s sounds off. Also, there must be a good reason (other than availability) why Ospreys weren’t used for the extraction. They’re literally built to avoid what’s being claimed.

Emerging evidence suggests that U.S. operations south of Isfahan (marked in red on the map) were unrelated to any pilot rescue mission.
The downed American pilot was reportedly located in southwest Iran, near Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (marked in blue on the map), not central Iran.
Instead, this appears to have been a failed heliborne insertion aimed at locating uranium within Iran.
The recent dismissal of seasoned U.S. generals may not be coincidental; it may reflect internal resistance to such high-risk operations.
Given Iran’s increasingly effective air defense, and the apparent failure of this mission, the viability of future heliborne incursions deep into Iranian territory is now in serious doubt and may ultimately be abandoned.

Firing top U.S. generals is not routine; rather it signals resistance inside the military to a ground invasion of Iran. When seasoned commanders are sidelined, it suggests the push for escalation is political, not strategic. History is clear: Ignore the counsel of experienced generals, and failure may follow!

At least one Palestinian was killed in an Israeli terrorist strike east of Gaza.
In separate attacks, at least six Palestinians were wounded by Israeli terrorist fire in tents camps in Rafah and Khan Younis.
One more Palestinian was killed when a house collapsed in Gaza City.

@Rebecca21951651 There are definitely alternative providers, but none had the incredible breadth of coverage that Planet does. It has/had daily images at 3m resolution, frequent 50cm passes, etc. at no extra fee.

This access change includes Gaza and Lebanon, not just Iran and Gulf states with US bases. Planet has been absolutely amazing, and their imagery has led to dozens of stories/scoops, with Gaza/Lebanon in particular.

Planet appears to be ending all access to imagery in the Middle East indefinitely. This will make understanding what’s happening in this conflict far more difficult.

The @IDF response to my question about the attack on the Pasteur Institute: "The IDF struck a military headquarters of the Iranian terror regime in Tehran, which the regime deliberately constructed near the Pasteur Institute."
My follow up: From the videos and images available, we can see that the Institute was destroyed, but not any of the surrounding buildings. Did the IDF miss or mistake its intended target? Also, there are no publicly visible military headquarters near the Institute as far as I can tell. If anyone knows of it, please share.🙏

We’re working with a soldier at Ft Bragg who under normal circumstances would likely be removed from deployment by Behavior Health, but apparently anxiety/panic/depression is so widespread the bar is very high for being taken off the roster. They all deploy to the MidEast tonight

@sanambna @viraameli @TheEconomist Ah, I should have guessed. I read the RUSI piece and it's just thinly sourced assertions. "intelligence estimates say X" and that sort of thing, absolutely no evidence Iran had a bioweapons program of any kind.

The editor for @TheEconomist is making up lies without any shred evidence to whitewash the deliberate destruction of the oldest vaccine research centre in Iran.
Iran was one of the only countries in the global south to produce - not one but several - domestic COVID vaccines, one of which was produced by the targeted Pasteur institute in collaboration with Cuba.
Iran does not produce biological weapons. This is a deliberate attack on Iran’s scientific capability and no amount of lying will whitewash these crimes against humanity.
