Canada and Europe are united in our values of pluralism, the rule of law, and democracy. On Europe Day, we’re building on that foundation to forge new strategic partnerships, deepen our trade, and stand steadfast with Ukraine. In a more uncertain world, Canada and Europe are creating greater certainty, security, and prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic.

Canada is deeply concerned about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reaffirm our opposition to Israeli settlement expansion and settler violence in the West Bank. Earlier today, I spoke with President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the measures taken by the Palestinian Authority to strengthen accountability, governance, and democratic institutions, in which Hamas can play no part. We will continue to promote peace and stability in the region, and work closely with partners toward this goal.

Words are not enough! The Jews of Canada MUST be protected. Israel sees what Jewish Canadians are facing, Israel has warned against it, and Israel will continue to do so. It is up to Canada — its leadership and its people — to do something about it.

Sometimes I ask myself if this is true

Maya’s cranioplasty was a success! ❤️ The surgery took a little longer than expected, but the team took their time to ensure everything was done carefully, and we were completely okay with that. There were no visible signs of the infection she battled six weeks ago, though we know we’re not entirely out of the woods yet there are always risks with a synthetic implant. She has developed hydrocephalus again, which explains the head swelling she experienced while in rehab. However, there are many documented cases where cranioplasty helps restore normal brain pressures, allowing the hydrocephalus to resolve on its own. To support this, Maya has an EVD (external ventricular drain) in place to manage any pressure changes and protect the incision site while it heals. We’re looking at about 5 days for initial healing, followed by another 5 days of gradually challenging the EVD. Our hope is that over the next 10 days and beyond, her hydrocephalus will subside naturally so she can avoid another surgery for a shunt. Right after surgery, we were amazed to see Maya open her eye and lift her head to look around showing incredible strength so soon after such a major procedure. Throughout the day, she continued to regain her pre-surgery spark moving her hand and leg, squeezing our fingers, and looking around with curiosity. Our sweet, innocent little girl has been through so much. It breaks my heart to watch her endure all of this, but at the same time, I’ve never been more proud of what a fighter she is. Daddy loves you so much, Maya Bear. Keep fighting, baby girl. ❤️
