@robbieorvis Or 95%! @hausfath put CDR in context for me when he showed that even it CDR industry surpassed its $100/ton goal and reaches $50/ton, it costs $11T to prevent warming of 0.1 degree C.

I could not agree with this more. Don’t talk to me about CDR unless you also plan to talk about the 90% emissions reductions needed.

@AndrewDessler I asked this exact question a few years ago. Answer I got from someone in the nuclear navy was basically cost. A Navy nuke is incredibly expensive. Not built for cost. It’s like solar panels for a satellite.

Why are small modular nuclear reactors taking so long to develop? We’ve had small reactors on submarines for 60+ years.

GHG and economics discussion aside, the chemical engineer in me has always been impressed by the creativity of using a super critical fluid to develop a new combustion process

This is a really good story from @cjanchondo about the NET Power announcement yesterday. Coal with CCS is really unlikely in US given plant age. But if Net Power can deliver gas CCS on budget that could be a monumental change in the power sector. eenews.net/articles/world…
