The first International Forum on AI, digital transition, energy, and connectivity in Africa opened Monday in Rabat, at the initiative of the African Center for Administrative Training and Research for Development (CAFRAD). Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this three-day conference is themed "Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transition, Energy, and Connectivity in Africa: Prospects for International Cooperation." It brings together government officials, public institutions, NGOs, private sector actors, experts, financial institutions, and international groups specializing in AI to examine issues related to the digital transition, energy, connectivity, and new prospects for international cooperation in Africa.

The first edition of GITEX Future Health Africa officially opened this morning in Casablanca, bringing together African ministers, international delegations, and key players from the health and tech ecosystems. In a press statement on the sidelines of the event, Chakib Achour, Country Chief Representative of GITEX Africa Morocco, highlighted the scale of the event, noting the presence of more than 200 exhibiting companies, with a mix of international groups and Moroccan ecosystem players, alongside strong participation from health start-ups and global investors. Rabat came alive on Friday as the 31st edition of the International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL) opened its doors to the public. Visitors began to fill the expansive venue from early morning, walking through aisles of books, meeting publishers, and taking in the first moments of what promises to be 10 days of cultural exchange, discovery, and conversation. This year’s edition runs from May 1 to May 10 and brings together a wide international presence. The fair hosts 61 participating countries and a total of 891 exhibitors, including 321 direct exhibitors. The fair stands stretch across a 17,000 square meter area, as it offers everything from literature and social sciences to children’s books and academic publications. Visitors walked from stand to stand, looking through books, asking questions, and speaking with publishers. It was a place where bibliophiles and writers could meet, and where Morocco connects with the wider world.
