@klseaboldt While I don’t have a dog in this fight (Royals fan, Colorado resident), but I do watch in bemusement that this team is actually expecting public funds for a new stadium while this product hits the field.

It appears this season is not going to go the way any of us planned. However, whether you like it or not, the Royals are probably not going to fire their manager. Teams don’t generally fire a manager who’s coming off two winning seasons and to whom they just gave an extension. I’m not arguing principle; I’m arguing pragmatic reality. So I’m unlikely to entertain nightly arguments about whether or not he should be fired. I don’t have the energy. We can talk about his successes and failings, the lineup, the pitching staff, really anything that is actually happening. But a firing is not happening anytime soon and probably not this year.

@klseaboldt Mine was two games earlier against the Chargers when he threw an RPO to Tyreke Hill on a slant. The sheer audacity to try to fit that one in and howitzer-like blast from the pocket made me rewind the play several times. My wife said I was mumbling, “He threw that…”

@klseaboldt The Royals are treading dangerously close to having an apathetic fanbase. While this is TOTALLY anecdotal, when the Tigers scored, I turned off the game.
