@moveincircles facebook comments have finally shocked me into believing that the west would be paradise if we disenfranchised women. The only people still enabling this madness are the be-kind hunzos and there's a lot of them.

Ursula von der Leyen announced yesterday that the EU will introduce a new mandatory EU age verification app for social media. The new law proposal will be presented after the summer. People creating new social media accounts will have to prove that they are above a certain age as the plans are to introduce social media bans for young people. Users will need a passport, ID card or digital ID to generate “over X age” proofs for platforms. For now, it seems that it will target new accounts but some are also pushing for retroactive ID requirement to verify already existing social media accounts.

Today, the Irish Defence Forces proudly marked the commissioning of the 64th Naval Cadet Class during a ceremony at the Naval Base, Haulbowline. Representing the Minister for Defence, Secretary General of the Department of Defence, Jacqui McCrum, attended the ceremony and presented commissions to nine newly qualified Naval Service officers. Following almost two years of intensive military and nautical training, the newly commissioned officers have demonstrated the professionalism, leadership and commitment required to serve at sea and at home. Throughout their training, they have completed sea time across the Naval Service fleet while also commencing their Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science at the National Maritime College of Ireland. The Irish Defence Forces congratulates each of the newly commissioned officers as they begin their careers in service to the State. #ÓglaighnahÉireann

@wereontheditch It already played out in 1922 and 1923 when unionists and free staters merged into Fine Gael's predecessor. FG-FF-DUP would be natural allies in an all Ireland parliament and although they'd put on pretenses of necessary evils they'd fall into bed together real fast.

""This should be seen as a good thing - not a 'ban' in a negative sense": Tánaiste Simon Harris says he wants to stop calling the social media ban for under-16s a "ban", because "ban" sounds "negative". Read more in comments 👇

@griptmedia Is Harris in charge of "Operation Say Anything To Distract from Aughinish"? Irish unity, "pandemic" of violence against women, social media bans? He's been making scattergun pronouncements on hot button issues for weeks. The fact remains, however: x.com/NewsCop9000/st…

@EoinLenihan Before there was a viable path back for emigres to return home by accumulating money overseas & get on the property ladder back here. Mass immigration & govt. policies regarding taxpayer purchases/preferential allocation of housing cut the legs from under most of those ppl.

The old are kept in check by RTE and the national media pumping out government propaganda 24/7. The politically active young have been gro*med from birth to accept socialism as the answer. That leaves regular Joe, the ones who have worked hard, are ambitious, did everything expected of them, to realise (s)he's been utterly shafted by decades of government economic policies that never had them in mind. If you are a good citizen. If you are ambitious, want to work hard, own your own house, have a family, live in a coherent and close-knit coommunity, then you need to leave Ireland. It is the same story I hear from young people in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties around Clare and from many in my DMs too. This government seems determined to end Ireland and to end the Irish and the parties further to the left of them applaud it. 👇👇👇
The Irish Political Analyst@AhernHerbe8277

My town in Cork is probably like most towns in Ireland now. I am one of about 20% of the people who grew up in the town now aged 25-35 , who are still living in Ireland. As I know many of these people, I can confirm that they have left because they could not get a decent job despite many qualifications in most cases, and/or because of the shortage and price of housing and rent. It is not because they wanted to leave. Of the Irish people left in this age group, about half of them are still here because they have issues of some kind. The ambitious ones have nearly all left. What have FFFG done to my country in the last 10 years? Why are people not angry? Why are we putting up with this, no other European country is so shameful to it's youth? We are practically a failed state!

Ireland is the only country in the EU that has no language requirements to become a citizen. Asked if this should be reconsidered in light of the Riad Bouchaker conviction, Taoiseach Micheál Martin rejects the idea, saying: "You're juxtaposing citizenship with murder."

Dublin were the better team and deserved to win that game. The officiating was deplorable. It's not good enough, the players aren't getting the chance to compete in all Ireland final in two weeks because of non-subjective calls. Absurd.
