Of late I have been asking here on Twitter about musical choices related to singers from the bygone era like Hemant Kumar, Talat Mahmood and others. The purpose honestly is not only music, but also understanding people a little better through their musical taste. This is a prime example of the state interfering to fix what isn’t broken. There is a reason colleges and universities are different from schools — because they cater to adults; adults who have the freedom to choose and venture into a world with confidence and responsibility. Uniformity isn’t the answer to everything, and neither is it always ideal.

Back in December, I called on the province to sell off its stockpile of US made liquor and donate the proceeds to food banks ahead of the holidays. Not to buy any more but to ensure we are spending taxpayer dollars wisely. Premier Ford said no. Now reports suggest taxpayers could be spending millions just to warehouse unsold alcohol.
