Things that make better personal or environmental health a barrier: -Putting a paper towel dispenser in a bathroom next to the air dryer. 🧻💨 -Upcharging for a salad over fries. 🍟🥗 Others?

@AABB @TZThompsonMD I agree that it may be unsettling to some patients -and to be fair, it is unsettling to me too- as I think AI is at the place where it is both too novel and also just powerful enough to be dangerous. But then all the more appropriate to be clear about its use or avoid using it

@AABB @TZThompsonMD A3: I think if used it would be appropriate to note - we note methodology and other diagnostics like stains and the consults of other humans - why not be transparent? Plus, if later we find a notable flaw in the AI, we can double check any reports/cases that utilized it. #AABBjc

Ready for Q3? As the use of #AI in health care increases, what is our responsibility to patients? Don’t forget to include A3 and #AABBjc in your answer.

Here's a succinct and impressive OnePage overview on blood products and transfusion for anyone interested! Although some of the finer points are probably open to debate, I think it's a pretty solid reference-- thanks @OnePagerICU !!

Many thanks to ASFA and DBC for giving me the opportunity to present this abstract - it has been a great first ASFA conference experience!

@emily_fri I had a nurse actually gasp the other day when I went to the blanket warmer to get one out to give to a cold patient -- she said she'd never seen a doctor do that themselves instead of asking a nurse to do it. I was disappointed to hear how unusual this was...

May I never come to feel like I’m above putting in orders, writing notes, and calling consults.

@TotalCytopath I think the best thing to say for these individuals is something to the effect of "I would love to have them on my team again" since it is a sincere way of not only saying they are stellar but also showing you mean it and know their worth

If I liked a medical student who did a rotation in pathology, and want to write a good letter, can I just say she's great, programmes should definitely take her? Or does it have to be an epic poem about the unparalleled joy it was to have had the privilege to work with her, etc?

You know youre a pathologist when: you can't help but ask for copies of the histopath slides from your cat's mass excision 😅 (it's a sebaceous epithelioma, in case you're wondering - thanks @ISUVetMed)

@studentdrdemon I was shocked to find that approx. half of my med school class was coming out of med school with zero debt. ZERO. And that's definitely not just due to scholarships.. I mean, power to you but remember those resources aren't available to the majority of your future patients, etc..

@A_Tweets_Stuff I got rejected by nearly all the med schools I applied to -- Only got an interview at one as well. But it only takes one! In the end, I've still got the MD letters after my name, plus I've completed a strong residency program and 2 fellowships :) Sending good vibes your way --

@gbosslet I was on our House Staff Council and argued we should expand paternity leave beyond 5 days too (in addition to better maternity leave) but was met with opposition from other trainees.. I found absolutely baffling but couldn't help but think they'd been molded by the system..

6 weeks of paid family leave with the option for 6 extra weeks of unpaid leave for housestaff is unconscionable We in the GME world are responsible for this We have done this to ourselves; allowing this to continue is not an option
