Most people are afraid to short the top after a major upside rally. They miss the ideal short entry and then watch the downside move for days. Then they decide to FOMO short at the bottom when it's an ideal long entry. They get wrecked again and now their ego tells them, they need to short the next green day so that they can be proven right. One thing is consistent: They lack discipline and patience. They saw that the market was recently red for days, want more red. They are always late and always on the side of the sentiment/herd. Because therye scared to be wrong alone. "everyone else thought it was a reasonable place to short. I wasn't crazy" Unfortunately, you dont want to do what everyone else is doing, if you want to beat the odds in the stock market.
