Recently, I withdrew ₹7000 from a State Bank of India ATM, but unfortunately, 4 notes of ₹500 were found to be damaged. These notes were not accepted by shopkeepers, and even the cash deposit machines refused to accept them. Because of this, I faced a loss of ₹2000 and had to visit the bank branch for help. However, the staff initially refused to exchange or accept the notes, saying they were not issued from their branch. The branch manager was also unavailable at that time, and even my written complaint was not accepted. After moving from one counter to another for almost 2–3 hours, the staff finally suggested that I deposit the damaged notes into my bank account. Eventually, the amount was credited successfully, but one note is still being held at another branch, and I have been told to wait a few days for further updates. The entire experience was stressful and disappointing. A simple ATM withdrawal ended up consuming my whole day. Incidents like these make customers hesitant to withdraw cash from ATMs, fearing repeated visits to the bank and unnecessary inconvenience afterward.

Traffic has turned our metro cities into giant parking lots with people trapped inside them. In Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai, on average a commuter spends 100 to 168 hours a year stuck in traffic . Not commuting. Just sitting. Every hour lost is an hour India cannot get back. Productivity lost, fuel wasted, air polluted, quality of life damaged. I stood up in Parliament and demanded a National Urban Decongestion Mission for our big metro cities with better public transport, smarter traffic management and a scientific parking policy. We are not stuck in traffic. We are stuck because of it. And if India wants its economy in the fast lane, our cities need to start moving.
