@JJDPCSMC A great place to start caring about youth, is to stop placing youth with mental illness, trauma, addiction, foster kids, in cages across the country and calling it treatment.

May 7th is National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day.

The Second layer of aggressive policing, Live_Scan and Background Checks. Using the CJS database should not be a measure of work ethic. Youths who are tried as adults or plea bargained my sophisticated District Attorneys should not be held to the same standard as grown adults.

Jails and prisons - through family separation, the trauma of incarceration, failure to address root causes of harm, and generational destabilization of communities - actually breed and perpetuate the very harms they’re purportedly meant to protect us from.
