@svdebug We must abolish those biased, racist laws that are used to mass incarcerate people of color. I myself was a victim of one of these enhancements

@JJDPCSMC That is great news. But will counties continue to house foster youth outside of their natural environment/County Lines? That needs to end✊🏽🇺🇸

@JJDPCSMC @EdSource JCJS also need to bring all foster kids home, stop housing them beyond their county lines where they are susceptible to being harmed. Ostracizing children is not investing them, nor is that treatment

@JJDPCSMC @EdSource I pray this means when we restore our kids to their natural environments, it will not mean housing them in another cage in their backyard, including foster kids being restored home to their natural communities. Be fostered next to their favorite teachers, churches, friends,

@GEOfunders Being condemned at the age of 17 years old and serving over 25 years of incarceration, it will be a blessing to be in Chicago amongst my community on a national platform.

@JJDPCSMC A great place to start caring about youth, is to stop placing youth with mental illness, trauma, addiction, foster kids, in cages across the country and calling it treatment.

@kellysav3 It is so sad that our highly sophisticated, well funded criminal justice system continues to execute its community members at this alarming rate✊🏽🇺🇸❤️

The Second layer of aggressive policing, Live_Scan and Background Checks. Using the CJS database should not be a measure of work ethic. Youths who are tried as adults or plea bargained my sophisticated District Attorneys should not be held to the same standard as grown adults.

@thesajidakhan @AbolitionNow_ Inter-generational transmission of trauma and a self-stigma in youth who begin to see incarceration as a right of passage rather than a path to avoid.

Jails and prisons - through family separation, the trauma of incarceration, failure to address root causes of harm, and generational destabilization of communities - actually breed and perpetuate the very harms they’re purportedly meant to protect us from.
