Carlos Beltran was a great Met. No doubt about it but I think to have your number retired you have to be an iconic player for the organization. I never thought of Beltran as that level player.

@mrfattoush @RobbySabo No as person who play that position. The play was never going outside. And him jumping outside to avoid contact made the pulling guard job easy lol. Made the hole mad big. The pulling guards whole goal is to kick him out because they’re tryna run exactly where they did.

Honestly the most impressive here is Eklund but Aitcheson is huge
The idea of a guy who can actually score and be an asshole on defense is unheard of for Islanders because they probably traded him in the past for a bottom six dude in the 90's

1/2 My opinion on Kashawn Aitcheson #Isles:
I’m not as high on him as most fans seem to be. Right now he’s dominating a league that isn’t exactly the most competitive, so I’m a little cautious about how much of that will translate.

@IslesUpdateNY 27 goals is sexy but I agree it possibly doesn’t translate. D zone exits is the most important skill of a dman bc dzone turnovers lose games. Might be a good idea to trade him now while value is high before he’s nhl tested

@FrankieVitz @nyjets No brainer #2 pick. A guy with that athletic and mental profile can be taught run stopping techniques. Dude got into Stanford, has a brother that went to Harvard, and by all accounts is a brilliant guy. Also is a guarantee not to be a personality issue in locker room. Send it in

You think they were gonna let him out by a simple trade request? He was the only home grown all-pro on the team & straight alpha. I saw this man call the entire def up in full pads in the bathroom (away from team and cameras) and tell everyone to follow him today & match his level play because it was going to be a show Vs the NYG in 2019 & then single/handedly take over & impose his will on the entire game.
