The founder and owner of Curro private school has sold it for R7.2 billion. Dr Chris van der Merwe who started Curro with his R240 000 severance package as a teacher. And turned it to one of the leading private schools in South Africa. He's now added in the billionaires list. No corruption, dedication and hard work put him there.

They didn’t sack him because he failed. They sacked him because he asked for more. He wanted a midfielder. He challenged the people above him. He tried to fix the foundation. And that’s where it ended. After all the work he had already done: Cleared the deadwood. Raised the standard. Started building a real system. For the first time in a while… you could actually SEE where this was going. But this club doesn’t do patience. It doesn’t do long-term thinking. It panics. Quick fixes. Short-term decisions. Same cycle. Some fans still don’t understand what a rebuild looks like. You don’t judge progress halfway through it. Now we’ve reset everything again. And we’ll act surprised when nothing changes.

Meanwhile Bruno Fernandes vs Man City with Cherki on the pitch and also his first game coming back from a muscle injury. If you switch both players between the two clubs, Cherki wouldn't get more assists than Dalot in a single season at United There is nothing of importance on the pitch that Cherki does better than Bruno Fernandes Cherki might be better than Palmer on your avi but he's nowhere near Bruno Fernandes.
Ororo😎@McFlybowy

I know he’s 6 assists behind Bruno, but he’s the most creative player in the league, in a way a Bruno can’t be. Because creativity isn’t just numbers alone, it’s type of chances you create. Bruno Fernandes is a volume creator. He plays early, he plays often, he forces situations. A lot of his creativity comes from repetition crosses, through balls, set-pieces, constant risk-taking. That’s why the assist numbers are always high. It’s pressure over time. But Rayan Cherki is a different kind of creator entirely. He creates chances that aren’t supposed to exist. It’s the weight of pass when there’s no angle. The disguised slip when defenders think the play is dead. The ability to draw three players in, freeze them, and then release the ball at the exact last second. That’s not volume creativity, that’s imagination-based creativity. Bruno sees passes early. Cherki sees them late….. when no one else can. And that’s the difference. Because when you defend Bruno, you’re preparing for patterns….runs in behind, early crosses, quick through balls When you defend Cherki, there is no pattern. He can stand still for two seconds and still break your entire shape with one touch. Also, Cherki’s creativity is tied to his 1v1 threat. That’s what makes it more dangerous. He doesn’t need movement around him to create he can generate the advantage himself. Beat a man, attract another, then create. Bruno depends more on structure, Cherki is the structure. So even if the stats say Bruno is ahead, the reality is… Bruno creates more chances. Cherki creates harder chances,Bruno relies on repetition, Cherki relies on invention And when you talk about pure creativity, that’s where Cherki sits in a space Bruno simply doesn’t operate in.

After a certain age, your parents slowly become your children. They ask simple questions, repeat stories, and depend on your patience the way you once depended on theirs. Very few understand this role reversal. What looks like innocence or inconvenience is really time coming full circle. Don't correct them harshly. Don't rush them. Care for them the way they once protected you. This is not a burden. It is repayment.

🚨💣 Neymar has opened up about Barcelona’s legendary 6-1 comeback against PSG. “After losing 4-0 in the first leg, I sat down to lunch with my physiotherapist and a friend. They were telling me it was impossible, that PSG was too good. I looked at them and said: ‘You’re my friends and you don’t believe in me? I’m going to win that match, just you wait and see.’ In the training session beforehand, we were joking around with Messi and Suárez. I was telling them I was going to score two goals and they each one. We were relaxed, but the faith was real. Even when Messi was missing penalties in practice, I knew that in the moment of truth he wouldn’t fail. What people don’t know is what it’s like down there when the clock is ticking down. When they scored that consolation goal, it felt like everything was falling apart, but something inside me was saying the story wasn’t over yet. When the moment for the fifth goal arrived, Luis Suárez won the foul. I grabbed the ball and looked at Leo, ready to hand it over, but he just pointed at me and said: ‘You do it.’ That gesture says everything about our friendship. I scored the penalty and then came that final cross for Sergi Roberto… When the sixth goal went in, the stadium didn’t roar — it exploded. We ran around like madmen, possessed by the euphoria. It was the most incredible feeling of my career. That day I understood that, in football, destiny belongs to those who refuse to give up.”

Guys, apartheid really did a number on the older generation. A month ago, I saw this beautiful garden and wanted to hire the person taking care of it. I hired this old gentleman I guess he’s in his late 50s, if not 60s. He’s a nice guy, gets the work done, and makes my garden look beautiful too. But here’s the problem: he is suffering from what I can only describe as post-apartheid syndrome. Every day he calls me “baas,” even though I’ve repeatedly told him to call me Ivyn. Whenever we go to the garden refuse, he automatically jumps onto the back of my bakkie to sit with the garden waste and I have to insist that he sits in the front with me. Not only that, but when I give him food, he used to sit on the floor until I started telling him to sit on the camping chair. He’s so used to working under apartheid-era white South Africans that his mind still seems programmed for that dynamic. Even with payment, he charged me below the minimum wage. Only my wife and I insisted that we would pay him above minimum wage because we believe in living wages. It’s just so sad to see this still happening in 2026.
