Today I learned that Surrey has an Illegal Construction Enforcement Team (acronym ICET), to crack down on illegal residential construction.

Black Sabbath's ninth studio album, "Heaven and Hell" was released #OnThisDay in 1980. Did you know that Lynn Curlee's cover artwork was originally inspired by a 1928 photograph of women dressed as angels smoking backstage during a college Christmas pageant? The portraits of the band that appeared on the back cover were drawn by Harry Carmean.

In addition, I have not seen a single campaign even mention the negative impact of the MCFD's new funding system & the effect it will have on various municipalities, emergency services etc...school, or even the SPS updating it's training to include disabilities

@ImagineSurrey Again, great mindset to have, I'm not taking issue with the message - spending money on rebranding - instead save that money and time, help fund a program towards accessibility or reducing barriers.

It bugs me that it’s always the arts or disabilities that get cut first, it’s never sports or anything else but in the end, anything getting cut bothers me.

@pattibacchus Disheartening, absolutely. But for some of these kids, some of these proposed cuts are going to be cuts to their school lifelines and their reasons for wanting to be at school in the first place. They're going to hit already-vulnerable kids the most.

And they don't even have an elected school board, thanks to BC Education Minister @lisabeare. I'm so disappointed in this government's handling of public education.

I attended a School District 61 budget meeting tonight to show support for so many K-12 public students who will be impacted by budget cuts proposed for 2026-27. It was simply the saddest, bleakest meeting I've attended in years. It's tragic what's happening. #bced #bcpoli
