We're pleased to see a documentary being made about the experiences of migrant women working in the UK care sector, addressing the issues of exploitation and loneliness. Documentary makers, Helen Spooner and Lotje Sodderland are looking to hear from carers themselves, with interviews guaranteed to be anonymous and translation also provided.

New op-ed out today by @ZoeJardiniere in @BigIssue talks about the opportunity the next Government has to reverse the changes made to the domestic worker visa 12 years ago trapping workers. Shoutout also @mrmfr for his work showing abuse rates rocketing with his data analysis 📈

As today's International Domestic Workers Day, it's worth remembering that Labour's 2017 & 2019 manifestos pledged to reform the domestic worker visa, removing the conditions that put workers at risk of modern slavery. There's no such pledge in this year's Labour manifesto.

Not biggest problem with National Service by far but forcing the young to “volunteer” unpaid for the NHS further encourages the idea the health service is a charity. The NHS isn’t some large scale philanthropic project - it’s a professional body that needs funding and standards.
