@StevenFalk1 @ChrisStringer65 Bristol still has a very small team of natural science curators and runs the LERC, but very much the exception. Nat Sci curators are an endangered species outside national museums (as are specialist curators in other disciplines).

@ChrisStringer65 Unfortunately, within the UK, the museum industry has shed most of its natural historians. I worked for 22 yrs in 2 museums (Coventry & Warwickshire) that employed ecologists & run biological records centres. Not sure any UK museums do that now so how do they think they can help?

@StevenFalk1 @Bathnats Well I’ve never seen one anywhere near here, Steve, as only normally around Arne, Studland and recently, Martin Down, so happy with that sighting! 👍🏼

It’s hard to know where to go with this bill. It appears to be a disaster of monumental proportions. At a time when nature needs us to stand strong, we are exchanging it as a commodity in a bad deal. Thank you @GeorgeMonbiot for this cry of anger. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

My episode of the Talking Tudors podcast is now out at the usual places - do check it out. We discussed the many creative ways people preserved food in the 16th century and the societal and religious implications of wasting food in the Tudor era!🤴🍎🍞🥩

Cutting access to the Bristol Records archive, one of the council budget cuts not U-turned on yet, would be a ‘false economy’ & could see the council breach its statutory obligations. Read more here 👇🏼 bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-n…
