I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t wait for @seppkuss - I’ve watched Sepp ride for them countless times while commentating these past years, I’m a huge fan of his. He’s class. I didn’t enjoy watching that today, and I love bike racing, it made me feel 😞😡 #notclass

@themuddycyclist Thanks TMC, and a very noble gesture. Started out as a tender insertion but the end game was pretty brutal.

@johnfreame1 @powerbottomdad1 Hell yeah! Funny how my meandering Model T drive across the US was almost precisely the same distance as my bike ride down the Iron Curtain Trail.

Julian Berrendero was the first Spanish winner of the Vuelta a Espana in 1941 & 1942. The race started in 1935.

@mrtimmoore Good book, but you expose your upper middle class credentials with your selective highlighting of atrocities during the spanish civil war. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Terro… Only someone desperate to undermine or cloak their privileged background could ever display such a partisan take

Climbed Col du Galibier yesterday. Alpe d'Huez and Col de Sarenne on today's menu. In the meantime, can't think of anything better... @mrtimmoore @CovadongaVerlag

@BCGSocial It's an extremely kind offer Chris, but sadly I'm just really not very good at this sort of thing. Disappointment GUARANTEED. 🤠™️

@mrtimmoore I am trying to find contact details to ask you whether you would speak at our cycling clubs 10th anniversary gala celebration. Could you DM me if interested please?

@normonics This decline is beautifully captured in this delightful book by @MrTimMoore describing his road trip across the red states in a malfunctioning T-Ford. Help is never far away, Boomers have the tools and skills to keep such things going. But they're on their way out.

I'm really wondering what happens when the boomers age out finally. It's going to manifest rapidly in the next few years. There are handy young folks around us, but not at replacement level...

@mrtimmoore Would be unbelievably happy to see a Belgium tour of the cobbled classics book, there is a lot of history and landscape for another great story there

The Tour goes up the Col de Marie-Blanque today. Recounting the agonies I endured climbing it on my French Revolutions ride, I wrote 'I coughed up iron and vinegar and flobbed it feebly on to my forearm.' My editor scribbled 'Absolutely disgusting' beside these words on the draft

@mrtimmoore @MegaHeid ETA "French Revolutions" is best of oeuvre, but the others are also top notch, esp. "The Cyclist Who Went Out in the Cold." "Spanish Steps"/ "Travels with My Donkey" is also great but not a cycling book. Don't miss Shinto, the Bedford van, the Swiss muleteer, Total Shithouse.

@mrtimmoore On a tangent - I can't remember if you ever mentioned Ottavio Bottechia in your books - I only picked this up from the rest day stuff the other day - what a story...an absolute soldier of the saddle - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottavio_B…
